Velvet Cloud Vapor

I've always had a little extra phlegm from vaping, especially the high VGs..

But with the symptoms I get from PG, it's not worth switching...

Just drink lots of water to help with it.. I also use a sinus rinse sometimes... NeilMed Pharmaceuticals - Sinus Rinse Isotonic

Keep in mind, too, that quitting smoking has all kinds of temporary side effects, some that can last for 6 months (or longer).. Be careful not to attribute everything you experience to vaping...

Cool, thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Last night my zmax was reading "low load" on the screen with my pro tank II and then stopped working all together. The zmax still displayed the voltage I set it to when I hit the button but it wasn't firing. I have no idea what's up with that.

I have a Sigelei Zmax V3 as a secondary PV (it's nice for the price, but ProVari kicks its .... :D)...

Anyway, never had that issue with it before..

You might want to ask your question here (they discuss both the V3 & the V5, since they're pretty similar): http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ic-flat-top-other-reports-one-week-later.html

Yo Dawg..

It would be interesting to hear of any more that you experienced any flavor degradation with around the 2-month mark (or even before/after)...

Mine usually don't last that long, but thanks to over-ordering in the past, I've had a handful that reached that point & had started going downhill, including..

Night Shift
Nutty Cookie
Ice Beard (flavor actually got even better, though the clouds got too stinky)
Catherine the Grape

Flavors that hit the 2-month point, and were still fine..

Sour Skittles
Harvest Berry
Vanilla Custard (I think it was still getting even better!)
Unflavored :D

I have a few flavors hitting the 2month mark
Campfire - has turned really dark. smells just as good though. haven't vaped it in a while so not sure about flavor
Mewlews - turned darker, but not as noticeably dark as the campfire got. haven't vaped it in a while either
Catherine the Grape and Sour Skittles both taste better and better to me the longer they steep. I just killed both but the CtG was close to 2months in age.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm over stocked with juice!
My Older VT has definitely changed. It's become less sweet, but the pure vanilla tobacco is still there, so it's still my top favorite.
My IB has become strange, almost an oily taste to it.
My NC-CB blend is losing it's flavor too.
I'll have to check on some others.

As for CtG, there's been a window for me.. Peaks between week 3 & week 5... Not saying that it's not good or unvapable before or after that... But mine definitely had a drop-off at 2 months.. so much so that I had to mix it with a "ripe" 3-week-old CtG to bring it back up to speed

I don't mind changes in color (expected) or smell (while in the bottle, anyway).. Just trying to compile a list of those flavors that experience taste degradation over a certain amount of time...

Don't want to see people end up not enjoying or even wasting their juice.. And even though I remember way earlier in this thread that somebody had vaped like 6-month-old Vanilla Custard and was really good, people are probably best off by vaping up a steeped-enough bottle within 2 months if they want to get the full flavor experience...

Maybe some juice brands with artificial flavorings would have a longer shelf life.. Seems like natural flavorings can & do break down quicker more often...

You better get vaping, Dawg! :D

I've been freaking out a little lately because I have a bunch of CtG that I don't want to "go bad".. And that drop-off can be pretty significant, at least to my tastebuds & set-up.. So I bumped it up as a top priority... Even started throwing it in my juice-guzzling iClear30's to vape it up quicker...

What makes it that much worse is that I'm now at full-time 2mg, so all my 3mg flavors are suddenly 50% more in volume..

Yeah, watch out for your Nutty Cookie.. that drop-off is pretty significant, too...

I'm tryin' man! Problem is, ever since I started using a RDA, I've notice I use much less juice. I only use my IBTs and V-Fate when dripping is not feasible, like driving long distances. For me, the flavor just doesn't compare to a RDA vape!

Yeah my Nutty Bar is nearly un-vapeable.

How's the vanilla custard?

Pretty tasty!

It tends to be light & mild when it's fresh.. and sort of like a wafer ice cream cone..

With a good steep, like a month, it gets a lot "heavier" custard taste to it...

Also makes a good mixer, especially for desserts (and apparently some VCV fruits)..

Throw it in with some Night Shift, for example, and you can get a Boston cream doughnut...

I'm still getting really good flavor with CtG cut with unflavored at 2:1 (CtG:UN) -- in an iClear 30, no less..

Then again, the Catherine is at peak flavor, too.. I'm sure that helps

As for your "Nutty Bar," I wonder how much an aged CB is also playing into that.. I know NC is definitely playing a role.. I wouldn't go so far as to say mine was nearly unvapable, but I think it was getting there... Which is odd, since a young NC is really good

I'm betting the peanuts in CB is also at least part of it.. I can't imagine that aspect holding up well after a while, turning into something a little funky

VCV newbies: Take heed! And don't order too much at once...

As far as the FDA's potential impact on VCV..

Probably worst-case scenario: In 3 or 4 years, they might only be selling pre-made zero-nic liquid, and zero-nic flavor concentrates (forcing vapers to get their own nic base supply to mix with)...

Definitely got a fight on our hands...

In happier news: VCV now has about 2,100 Facebook likes..

Just a few months ago they were only at 1,100...

Let's just hope by then I'm gonna be off the nicotine :)

Let's just hope by then I'm gonna be off the nicotine :)

As long as you don't take too much of a drop at once (cutting by 1/4th or 1/3rd is probably the upper limit), and as long as you stay at the new lower level for a while (speaking from experience, 1 week is probably too short :D), then it's not really all that bad...

Not going to lie: It can be a little tough, especially the first day or two (sometimes even occasionally during the 1st week)..

But I combat that by temporarily vaping more than normal, and by using a harder-hitting topper more often.. Then as you adjust, you can gradually dial both of those back down to normal...

I've read cases about ECF'ers trying to cut back too much too soon, and end up back on much higher nic -- or for recent quitters, even temporarily go back to smoking..

Unless there's a real, urgent (read: rare) reason to cut quick, just take your time with it..

And with VCV's 6 nic levels, it makes nic-level mixing & stepping down pretty easy... And no, people really don't need syringes if they don't want to bother.. Mixing a 50/50 can easily be done just by eyeballing it.. I even do that with a 2:1 mix (though I use my thumb & forefinger as a caliper :D)

Anyway, my prior post was just worst-case..

I think it's pretty likely that CASAA will be suing the FDA over this, and that could drag things out for quite a while, giving us that much more time...

I gotta send those guys a few bucks.. :)

P.S. ECF recently opened a new FDA Regulations sub-forum.. Lots of activity.. They just ask we keep it on-topic...

Thanks for all the info ;-) I'm already down to 3 though, yay for me!!

Just some suggestions for you, or anybody else reading this thread.. :)

Congrats on the 3!

What's your next level? Gonna gently baby it down to zero in a series of mini-steps from here, like the scared little wimp who doesn't want to give up their nic, clinging to the precious last tiny amounts -- like I am? :D
