Wow that Night Shift looks delicious! My personal suggestion would be to vape on one of those samples that you think you will like the least, and let the others steep until that sample runs out, and save the Night Shift for last.

I just thought of something, my VCV juice will have been steeping the entire time it is in the postal system, +1 for logistics.

True, but I count them starting the day I get them, since postal times can vary..

Aside from that, batch freshness plays a big role in how it tastes the day you get it...

As an example, my 1st bottle of Mewlew's was awesome the day I got it.. Lots of dark, rich, potent fudgy chocolately goodness that literally filled a couple rooms with its aroma just by opening the bottle... It had obviously been steeping at VCV HQ for a while before it got bottled & shipped...

The bottle I got 3 days ago? Lighter-colored in comparison, mild smell & taste, missing a lot of the chocolate & fudge.. It's better today than it was yesterday, and has more of the creamy butterscotch doughnut taste than the 1st bottle did... This batch had obviously been made very recently prior to shipping, as VCV's cocoa flavoring takes more time to develop... Happens with all the VCVs containing chocolate, like Monkey Business, Campfire, Night Shift, etc.

Did your Strawb Gwab come with that blue cap??

I've had all 3.. Give 'em a try today!

If they're a little too mild overall, or one flavoring seems to be missing, put any/all aside for steeping, and try a little more the next day, two days, 3 days..

All those 3 should be ready within a week...

Weird about the throat-hit thing on stuff that's steeped longer..Is everything else the same, e.g., voltage/wattage, topper, coil, wick, etc?............

It is weird but she is experiencing it also with Harvest Berry. I'm going to swap the coil next, rinse out the tank, and try some fresh from the bottle for testing. Same wattage, same mod, same clearo.

I've heard that clearos with long wicks work better like a vivi or iclear maybe.

I prefer Kanger Protank 2 Minis rewicked with cotton. Juice would not wick on stock heads for me until I went cotton. Zero leaks or burned hits. Just have to be careful not to leave any open gaps. Just did a few Mini 3s, which are a pain to cotton wick, and they aren't leaking either. It would boggle my mind if it works better with long wicks. Using stock heads the juice would just air lock for me. My experience with the 30s has been poor in comparison when looking at vapor production. Cotton Protank with VCV is a cloud machine.

I think the silica wicking mutes the flavor, but cotton does not work well in a mini protank 2 imo, floods and gurgles.

I've got 14 Mini 2, 2 Mini 3, Protank 1 + Aerobase, and Protank 3 + Aerobase all re-wicked with cotton and couldn't be happier. Zero floods or gurgles if you do it right. Mostly VCV and some 90% VG from Ahlusion.

Okay, so I lied about the White Beard.. :D

Was too eager to have some since it's been a while.. Already polished off like 2ml pretty quickly.. I like it & it's good, just as I remembered it (though could use a little more steep time, especially since it's cut with unflavored at 50/50)...

However, here's the thing: To me it sort of resembles a Marlboro Light.. And it reminds me too much of smoking!

After I vape some & put it aside, it tastes like I just had a smoke.. And if I'm indoors & had been vaping up some storm clouds, a cigarette smell sort of lingers around for a while...

I like White Beard, and I like Ice Beard (which I haven't had in a while).. I don't know if they're the best out there, yet they are the best tobaccos I've ever vaped, anyway.. But I'm so far removed from smoking at this point (almost 9 months) that the tobacco liquids just aren't doing it for me anymore on that level..

After this bottle is gone, I think I'm done with them & will stick with fruits, desserts & unflavored...

That's the problem we are having at just over a month in. We like White Beard and Caramel Tobacco and I think Vanilla Tobacco could go in the drawer for another month. Once she got her hands on Boba's Bounty she hasn't touched any other tobacco flavors. I'll probably vape up the leftover tobacco in my drives to work and it will probably be all food vapes after that.

It think Mewlews might finally be coming around for me. Just refilled from the steeping drawer and it is more rich and chocolate flavored now. Still have to get the Harvest Berry problem sorted out. She is experiencing a similar problem with Straw Gwab so I'll look at that too. Fruit Cup and Peach Tea will be a month in before I get to them. Think it will be all be 6mg from here on out once the 12mg is gone.

I used to like Boba's & Gorilla -- until I tried VCV...

I think my break away from tobacco e-liquids (maybe a month?) was what finally did it & made me realize I could do without tobacco flavors.. Up until that point I always had some on hand since I started vaping full-time..

Recently I've been doing straight unflavored a lot more, which is also a small part of it.. While I still like flavors, they're becoming less & less of a necessity...

But just like dropping to zero-nic, the switch to full-time unflavored is a transition process.. Not sure I'll ever get there 100%.. And anti-e-cig people try to argue that flavors are aimed at kids? What do they know!

Anyway, my Mewlew's is still getting there, too.. Gets better & more chocolately / fudgy every day, but I'm too impatient.. Plus I'm pretty low on flavors at this point, and nothing is fully steeped.. I might even crack open my Catherine, even though it's only been just under a week..

You should give Fruit Cup & Peach Tea a whirl now.. just in case you end up not liking either after a month's steep -- but maybe would have liked them when they were fresher...

This I have discovered is the problem with going sale crazy and not having enough gear to load it all up. I've got no desire to drip 12mg so they both need a tank. Have to identify two unpopular flavors to pull out of rotation or buy more tanks. And I just ordered 3 more Mini 2 tanks so I can try my Vape Kitchen order and also load up Orange Creamsicle 6mg from Ahlusion which tasted great dripping. And I'd rather put that in a tank because the dripping rig is already busy with my AiV order. I've got to build a clearomizer rack because things are spiraling out of control right now :D

Anti-e-cig people please leave my vape snacks alone.

I know all too well about the "too many flavors, not enough tanks" thing..

It got to the point where I finally caught up -- and had like 14 clearos going all at once..

Also heard of some people going up to 20 or so..

These days I keep the numbers down to a more manageable level.. only at 4 right now

As for dripping too high a nic level, I think it's a good idea for people to keep a bottle of low- or even zero-nic of unflavored on hand at all times.. That way they can cut any & every possible juice for lower nic levels, and still retain a good amount of flavor..

Even when I hit full-time zero-nic, I'll still be cutting all my flavored juices.. Full-flavor is nice, but it's not really necessary...

When the box gets here this week I'll be over 20 if I'm not already  . At this point I love it, lot of variety, and I find rewicking Protank heads strangely therapeutic. This forum is a tough place to hang out and save money though. Being new to vaping I want to try everything all at the same time and the tank pile grows..

That is a good tip on something to cut nic back. Right now dripping 6mg is more than enough for me. I'm starting to feel like I'm getting too much nic at work with the 12mg and Protanks at some points. So I hope to vape that up and complete the move to 6mg.

I've gotten a number of VCV flavors and I've got to say, they are all way too sweet for me. I've got them (almost 10) in a zip lock bag in a desk drawer and I can still smell them when I walk into the room. It's certainly not an unpleasant smell but still a very strong sweet odor.

For anyone who has tried the tobacco flavors (not with caramel or vanilla) are these any less sweet? Is it just that all VG flavors are inherently sweet flavored? TIA,
df

This is most likely not the case. I've vaped some VCV juice, and I get the feeling that they are on the sweet side of the spectrum by design. For example Ice Beard Menthol. I wouldn't quite go to the extent of saying that it is flat out sweet, but it is very rich.

I find White Beard and Caramel Tobacco to be a little sweet. Vanilla Tobacco not so much. Haven't really had any problems with the sweetness though. Blue Beard was not my cup of tea but don't remember it being overly sweet.

Did more testing on Harvest Berry and still same problem. Installed new head and topped off tank and didn't do anything to reduce the harshness. Straw Gwab is similar but not as harsh. Curiously, both are 5 weeks old and have a yellow tint, could be a particular flavoring as Gato mentioned earlier.

My VCV vapemail arrived today. 15ml bottle of 3mg Night Shift, and I scored a sample of campfire!!! The Night Shift smells under-developed out of the package, so it is definitely steeping for a week. However, the campfire smells of gooey chocolate smore goodness, so I loaded some up in my mini protank 2. I need to actually give it a chance to wick up in my coil because I just want to keep vaping on it haha. I took one hit of the campfire that came through really well so far, and wow, it is a thick, fudgy rich chocolate smore flavor with a hint of cinnamon snuck in there, might as well be eating a smore. Delicious. Can't wait to try the Night Shift, but patience is surely a virtue with that.
