Just got my package today. I ordered Monkey Business, Nutty Cookie, and Night Shift. My first order with VCV, can't wait to try them.

Also, they gave me a free sample of Burley beard. It smelled unlike anything I've ever vaped before. Do you guys have a specific steep time for Burley beard? I definitely don't want to taste what I just smelled :)

Although this whole time vaping I've been looking for something that actually tastes like a cigarette, I'm guessing this might be the stuff.

I generally give the Beard flavors AT LEAST two weeks of steeping.

Your post made me re-visit my Burley, which I haven't touched in a couple weeks, and has been steeping for a total of about 3.5 weeks..

Been meaning to do that, anyway

Mine still smells fairly funky.. but I've learned that you shouldn't always go by the smell-test, alone... Juices can sometimes smell pretty good, but taste pretty nasty -- and vice versa

It also tastes different -- and better -- than it smells.. It's rich, strong & flavorful

I never really smoked cigars, pipes or Marlboro reds very often, but sort of tastes like a mix of those

Anyway, about half an hour ago, I put some Burley in an iClear 16, and have been vaping it fairly heavily since..

That's about my limit with Burley in that clearo.. Need to try it in an iClear 30 next, since I like VCV tobaccos better in those

It's very rich & bold & unique, which is why I liked it a lot the 1st night.. but that's also its downfall, IMO.. and probably my least favorite VCV 'backy (of the 4 I've tried so far)

Have to be in the mood for it.. Drinking some beer or something with it seems to match it better, too :toast:

I recognize that it's good quality stuff.. but just wished I liked it more for my tastebuds (or drank beer more often )

I don't think Burley is for everybody...

I think 1st-timers might be better off with something like Ice or White (or Vanilla?)... If those agree with you, step up to Blue.. and if you like that, then give Burley a whirl

Umm.. what did it "taste" like??

Kinda like everything tastes like in my PTII! Almost like a machine oil taste (yes, I've done several alcohol soaks with my PT, including the heads, even tried new heads). But it wasn't just the taste, it was the lack of vape and lack of TH.
Maybe what I tasted was the straight nicotine (12mg). I'm going to clean a V-Fate tonight and fill it with the unflavored to compare.

I've only vaped unflavored in an iClear 16 so far.. if it had any real taste, I'd definitely be able to taste it in that, LOL

I vape it around 6-6.5 watts / 3.5-3.7 volts on 2.1 ohm.. doesn't need to be very high.. still get decent TH & plenty of vapor... Pretty easy on the coils, too

I use it inbetween tank flavor changes for a couple fills, to clear out any old juice flavor

Also, you know that last bit of flavored juice left in a bottle that's impossible to get out? I just add 3, 5, 15ml of unflavored to it... At the lower end of that range, the flavor can still be pretty noticeable

I'd use it for more pre-mixes, like 50/50, but I've been trying to use up my 6mg flavored as much as possible 1st..

I've heard that before with Kangers & the machine oil taste.. Have you tried a hot water rinse/soak?

Wonder what it would be like dripping unflavored... :D

I mainly got the unflavored to do 50/50 mixes to start lowing my nic levels. I'm gonna try using it like you said for between flavors.

I have not tried a hot water soak. I have done a rinse, as well as soaking in Everclear. Might give it another shot.
I have some AiV flavors, which most flavors I believe contain some level of PG, maybe they will wick better in the PT?
Dripping unflavored? Another item for tonight's To-Do list!!

You know there's still a handful of flavors left I want to try?

Of course, I wouldn't get to them til July if I were to order them now...

Me too. Campfire and Caramel Swirl are the only ones I've yet to try. I'm a little hesitant to try Caramel Swirl since I didn't like Caramel Tobacco, not even a little bit!

For some reason, every order I've placed has shipped very quickly. Crap. Just jinxed myself, didn't I?!

Yeah, I didn't care for the caramel in Candy Bar..

The remaining I'm thinking of trying at some point...

Campfire
Mewlew's
Fruit Cup (yeah, jrenae's making me ;))
Chocolate Pudding
Vanilla Tobacco
Summer Sweet

Any that jump out at you (positively or negatively)?

Mewlew's is a must try if you ask me.

Vanilla Tobacco...ooooh Vanilla Tobacco!! My absolute FAVORITE!! But I'm sure you've seen my posts stating how long this one needs to steep. My first bottle of it was just...eh...at first. I put it to the back of the pile for a while. Probably two months later I filled an IBT with it, and the flavor just about knocked me down it was soooooooooo good!!

Chocolate Pudding, well, is very chocolatey! But more like a cocoa flavor, not milk chocolate, which I prefer dark chocolates. I only use this one occasionally in my 2.0 V-Fate. No way I could vape this beyond 2.0ml at a time.

Ha! Jrenae inspired me to try all of the fruit flavors actually! Vanilla Custard too. But Summer Sweet, Fruit Cup, Harvest Berries, and Sour Skittles all seem to have the same "perfumey" flavor to me, but that is certainly changing with steeping.

Also, re: your other post... Keep in mind that sometimes you just get an under-performing 16 (or any clearo, for that matter).. I'm using one right now.. Hasn't been used much until recently.. Not sure if it's the head, the rest of it, or both.. Doing a side-by-side comparison with a good one, and having similiar issues as yours: not as much vapor, heating up too much too quickly -- even sounds off (too loose & airy).. Just rinsed & dry-burned & reassembled everything tightly, then filled with a different flavor -- still the same.. It's the only one in that color (red), and bought it with some of the rest at the same place at the same time... At this price, and with as many as I have, bound to get a lousy one, heh... Going to switch out the head after the juice is gone, and try it with unflavored... If still relatively sub-par, then there's something wrong with the construction quality with the tank itself.. Thinking that part of the tank somewhere just isn't tight enough & might have to toss it

Hey, Shane.. finally revisited that messed-up iClear 16 of mine...

Tried a bunch of different tests..

Conclusion? Bad head.. once I knew it was garbage, I carefully pulled it apart.. Even though it was hitting the correct resistance range (2.0 - 2.2 ohms), in comparison to a good head, both the coils of the bad one looked like they were wrapped way too tight / close together

Happens sometimes when you rely on Chinese slave labor to wrap your coils, instead of doing it yourself.. ;)

Slapped in a new head (@ $2.50 or whatever), and works perfect now

This is all making more sense now, too... My White Beard was originally in this clearo.. and it always used to hit hot, putting off abnormal throat-hit.. Also got gunked up way too much, way more than it should have

My suggestion is to swap out coil heads in any of your under-performing 16's (make sure the good one is working properly 1st before trashing the bad one, just to make sure :D)

Get fruit cup, vanilla tobacco, and summer sweet :) Their fruits are so refreshing to me and such a great change up!

I'm sure there's some cross-over, but how does Mewlew's & Pudding compare? Thinking of getting only one in the next order (already have way too much juice still, LOL)..

I think I sort of miss the rich chocolate fudge/cocoa of Monkey Business (when cut with something else to tone it down), which Night Shift & Nutty Cookie don't really provide in the way I want them to, like there's too much doughnut & cookie, respectively... Which of Mewlew's or Pudding would give me that best, would you say?

But Summer Sweet, Fruit Cup, Harvest Berries, and Sour Skittles all seem to have the same "perfumey" flavor to me, but that is certainly changing with steeping.

Maybe it's just my clearos and/or tastebuds, but I don't really get the perfumey thing with HB.. that's more reserved for SS, to me, and only at times..

HB cut with some unflavored is pretty darn good.. better than uncut, IMO

I need to start experimenting with cutting more flavors, anyway.. I think my tastebuds are becoming even more sensitive these days

Also need to do more flavor mixing as my clearos become due for new refills...

Yeah, those 3 are exactly what I'm thinking (plus a chocolate/fudge)..

I have enough tobaccos for now, but eventually want to try the Vanilla Tobacco.. How does it compare to White Beard?

Also sort of growing tired of the desserts I have now.. Seems like more & more often I have to really be in the mood for them... Need to start either cutting them with unflavored, or mixing some desserts together and/or with some tobaccos -- or mix & cut! :D

I think I'm liking the fruit vapes the best at this point... Peach Tea is more of a hybrid, and the Strawb-Gwab was good except prominent strawberry vapes aren't my favorites... But otherwise, I've really been liking the VCV fruit stuff... Can't wait to finally dig into my Catherine the Grape that's been steeping for like a month now.. Smells awesome!
