Hi All,

I have 2 young boys, and one of them is autistic. I am scared to death about them getting into some juice that smells great at some point. I have looked around and have not seen anything that would work as a carrier for juice that is childproof. I know a few vendors like eastmall etc ship their juices in childproof containers, but was wondering if anyone knows of a place to buy these droppers or smaller plastic bottles with tamper proof lids on them? I would like to buy a lot of them to do my mixing with.

Thanks,

James

Hello James,

Most of the eye dropper bottles that I have with my liquid are supposedly childproof and they are to an extent. Like most big commercial childproof bottles, you have to press down and twist. The ones provided by most of the ecig suppliers are in my opinion, cheaply made. Doesn't take much effort for a 6-7 year old to just twist it open without pressing down.

Such as these on the ebay, honestly describes how these bottles are not really childproof. Lot 12 Eye Dropper Bottle .5 oz / 4 dram / 15 ml (15ml) - eBay (item 370190039850 end time Jul-17-09 21:58:12 PDT)

Your best practice is to keep them out of reach. Don't even let them see where you put it. Put it in a container they are less likely to get into. For instance, my kids hate how dog food smells and looks, they don't even want to feed the dog they asked for. My liquid hides in the dog food cupboard and larger amounts are in my gun safe.

As deadmon said the alledged childproof lids are not really chidproof...The best thing I have seen is recycleing your actual medicine bottles if you have any big enough or asking your pharmacist if they can give you some big enough to hold your liquids...A safe is always the best idea but some of those are a little pricey also...I have seen some at Walmart that arent too expensive...Out of reach is always good as well...Good luck

i keep my small dropper bottles inside actual childproof pill bottles, the kind you get with a prescription. for one it keeps my 2-yr old out of them and second it keeps any potential spill during the day from coating the inside of my bag.

where to get them - i couldnt find any for sale, so i went into walgreens and asked the pharmacist if i could have some to keep my kid away from all the vitamins my wife and i take (little lie there) and he gave me as many as i wanted to carry for free. just a thought.

nhaler had the best idea, I think. Go up to your pharmacy and talk to someone there, explain your situation and that you want child proof containers for the liquid. They very well might be able to just give you some blank/empty perscription bottles that you can just drop your juice droppers into (the whole bottle, ie having a bottle in a bottle) that should work. Perscription bottles are usually pretty child proof.

That or get a lock for a tackle box or something to keep everything in.

If you're that concerned (and kudos to you), you should lock up your stuff in a tackle box, cabinet or desk drawer. Emphasis on lock, as in key.

I ended up buying this. Its awesome for holding all my mad lab type stuff as well as all my juice... and it locks. Bought it at target in the cosmetics area for 26 bucks.
