Protection circuitry is built into the battery tube on eGo style batteries. It will prevent you from firing a low resistance coil and shut down.
The biggest problem with eGo style batteries is during the charging process. I suggest that you charge it only while you are awake (not overnight while you are sleeping), and charge it somewhere that is flame/heat resistant (such as in a dish on the counter in the kitchen).

Need to be very specific with this question. You see there is the eGo, but then there are the ego, Ego, and the EGO, and they were not all created equal. Many of the knockoff .. counterfeit .. clone ego batteries have unprotected Lithium Cobalt cells in them along with very poor quality mosfet chips in their switches, and they can explode or catch fire. This normally happens when charging, not while using.

IMO, the JoyeTech eGo is the only ego I would trust.

DO you guys have a recommnedation which brand of e-cigar do I have to buy?
I need a little vapor in every puff, so low ampere (+/- 180 - 650 mA), but must have circuit protection and vent holes.
    Thanks

    Hi

It comes down to you have to know the place you are buying from is trustworthy and carrying genuine products. Joyetech, Kanger, and Smoktech are all good quality and have been in this game for a long time - as long as you are getting the genuine item.

Also, beyond the protection circuit in eGo class batteries, they are designed to blow the bottom cap out of the battery tube. And the space around the fire button is also an area to allow venting. Again, assuming they are quality devices built the way they are supposed to be made.and actually have a blow-off bottom cap.
