Vented end caps

The day I got mine I popped it in the drill press and shot a 1/8" hole.

Jeff, that's a very generous offer and I'll probably take you up on it. But since I don't want to give up the use of my Chuck even for an hour, would it be possible to buy a new end cap, rather than send in my original?

I just drilled a vent hole in mine. It took all of about 10 sec.

Well, my problem's solved. My husband drilled the hole in the end cap.

Now just put the ends from a piece of cord through the hole, tie a knot and instant lanyard! Then have him drill another one for venting!

Not very hard if your iron is 1700 degrees.

i think you'll need to mod that soldering iron for more power. don't forget to put vent holes in the iron though ...
