Fail, big FAil, no really big FAILURE.
I had all the bits, the plans were perfect, even simple. The result a lot of bits for the trash can. You guys make it look so easy.
My box was cheap to start with. But cut nearly spot on, drilled in the right places, was 90% happy with that for the first attempt. Glueing a few bits in place was a 50% success, poor quality glue. Better glue and bit more patience needed. The soldering, 99% disaster. Totalled 1 of the 510 connectors, melted the plastic insert thing solder was weak on the wires to the board I was using and totalled a mini off switch, must have melted something inside.
Total cash wasted, less than 10 dollars so not to bad.
Need a new soldering iron, not one with a big screwdriver type tip and a bit more practice with it. Get some flux don't rely on the solder with it in. Get some decent wire, I was using bits of wires I use for cars and the like and some speaker wire so I suppose to heavy for small circuits.
But like Arnie says "I'll be back".:)
