Hey guys,
I have a pool and was going through my pump/filter book in regards to winterizing. I have the basic sand filter system and ran across this.

Storage/Winterizing

Notice: Allowing water to freeze will damage filter and void warranty. If antifreeze is needed, use propylene glycol; it is plastic compatible and non-toxic. Follow manufacturer's instructions. DO NOT use ethylene glycol based antifreeze-it is toxic and it may damage plastic components.

Now last year when I read that, of course it made little sense to me as I was a smoker. Now I see the light........

The EPA is actually promoting the use of propylene glycol as it is also much better for the environment. Apparently, propylene glycol dissolves in the table water in 48 hours or less.

The wave of the future is PG...

On another note: Isn't it amazing how much you know now vs a year ago based on what you have learned from just switching your brand of cigarettes from tobacco to ecig? Who would have ever thunk it...

It's going to start getting really cold here in Minnesota. I'm wondering if they have some "anti-freeze" liner for coats, maybe a thin lining of PG. :D

I get a kick out of the whole anti-freeze w/PG discussion, it just makes me chuckle every time I read about it. That's good info about the pool though!

be careful though... it might not be food grade ;) But how convenient would that be!?!

I got mine at the K-Mart pharmacy counter. $10 for 500ml. and the very nice druggist threw in an oral syringe to help me measure. He would have had to bring it to my house and help me mix to make it any more convenient.:D

My wife questioned me the other day about what is in my e juice. I walked her over to the pharmacy area grabbed a bottle of KY and another product like it called Glide and showed her what was in it. I must say we did have quite the chuckle over that one.

And was it "food grade" PG?

Kona, did the pharmacist ask you why you needed the PG?

No! ..and I wanted him to ask. He's a very chatty, inquisitive guy and I'm downright spooked that no matter where I vape, other than in our only (illegal) smoke allowing bar, nobody ever says or asks anything about it.

Part of it is that I live in a small town where strangers do talk to each other on the street and in stores. Not at all like in a big city. In 'Local' language its called "talk story."

When I saw the druggist a few days later I showed him my Bulli Slim mod and explained without being asked to. He was vaguely curious.
