Hey guys, I just put an atty on my SSGGTS and i am using a new AW 18650.(2 weeks old).. Anyway I went to take a drag and my button got extremely hot and when I say hot I mean like fire hot.. Not just warm... I took the battey out ASAP and changed out the atty.. After it all cooled back down I put the same battery back in, put it all back together with a different atty and now everything seems to be fine.. Im guessing this is just a bad ATTY but I just want to make sure.. Does anyone have any info on this?? My spring did not colapse or anything!! I hope it was just the atty and not the battery!! Thanks in advance. and if there is already an answer somewhere on here this can be deleted I just needed a fast answer.. Thanks again!!!!

I would say it's a bad atty. Was the button hot as soon as you touched it? Or did it get hot only after pressing it to take a drag? If after changing attys, it's not happening, that leads me to believe even more that the atty is bad. Gredie and Rip are right too. Check the resistance of the atty with a multimeter and check contacts.

At least GG gives you a hard sign when a short happens even if the fuse is not on it Fugi:)

It was a bad atomizer. GG cant get shorted in any possible way exept bad atomizers or bad batteries.

Thanks Imeo... I just got back home and tried that atty on something else and Its not working so I know now for sure it was the atty.. Yeah Im happy about the sign it gives rather than something bad just happening and not knowing about it untill its to late!!! Thx Again!!!

I've had it short before, and don't think it was either. I unscrewed it, screwed it back in and no problem... no idea what the cause was, but it fixed (maybe screwed it too tight or something). My friends shorted, the center post of the atty was loose and touching the side.

It is kind of nice to be able to tell the difference between a short and a dead battery, unlike some... like the ego, where it both cases look the same.
