Bristow, Ok.
I have used a pencil eraser before and yes it works well to get the tarnish off contact points. It is hard to get at the bottom of the button without taking it out though.

If I can remember to buy one of those pink school erasers and slice it in too it would fit very nicely I think. :)

Anyone have a video of a complete cleaning/maintenance process? Yeah yeah, I know...but what can I say, I'm a visual learner :) Even a step by step cleaning/maintenance post...where to put noalox etc. I thought that was just for the threads, but if I am reading right you can use this on connections as well?

not a real reason for a video my friend way. Cleaning is very easy. You shine GG outside and you clean the threads with a towel. Then you check the connections where the battery touches and where the button touch. If they are not clean you wipe them with a cloth and gazoline. Then you put Noalox on the internal and external threads. Not too much, just a hair:)

Thanks blue9, that shows us how to apply Noalox.

Here is another video from way back of imeo showing us how to sand the button. I think it still applies today even though the button is different now. And NO that is NOT a xHaler, its the original Grant. We are trying to sand all the points inside the GG that the battery touches and the points where the button touches. If you take the battery out and look down inside the GG you will see where the button touches. The beauty of the GG is that you can do this maintenance very easily and renew the performance to the way it was on day one.

I would not put noalox on connection points because it is messy and not necessary if you keep it clean. I only use noalox on my threads. On the TS I put it inside the tubes, and where the end caps thread into. Very little goes a long long way.

I have the GGTS for some months and I am a heavy vaper with this device ..I clean the GGTS every ten days (especially the connections and the external surface) ..
I realised that the last week the vapor production was poor and the telescopic system had to be tight enough ...If not then the GGTS could not power on the atomizer

I tried to clean every single piece of the device..the 901 adapter, the internal pole of the upper cap, the internal cube of the button, even this tiny fuse in the base cap and the results was brilliant !!! ..My GGTS is like new again !!! Clouds of vapour and high throat kick even at 3.7 Volts ! :toast:

Telescope needs extra care because the internal threads collect dirt. If you keep those threads clean and the threads of the telescop too and put Noalox you will never experience this again Ggero

I was having serious performance issues with my GGT. The button had to be pressed at just the right angle to get it to fire. I had cleaned the nail, axis, all threads and atty connector to no avail. I put it aside and hardly touched it for a week. I had some time today and decided to take the butoon apart to see if I could find the problem. I disassembled a very very tight button button. What I found inside made me gasp!!! The spring in the button was very rusted, the nail threads were caked in rust and the button housing was very dirty. No wonder it was misfiring like crazy!!!! I took a cape cod cloth and cleaned everything up and replaced the spring with a spare spring I had on hand. Put everything back together and VOILA!!!!! Problem immediately fixed :vapor::vapor::vapor:

Anyway, if you're ever having misfires, don't forget to check the inside of the button and make sure it's rust free and clean out the oxidation in there periodically.

Bristow, Ok.
Absolutely right Boomboom. I have had this same issue... That is the beauty of the GG aint it? Being able to take the entire thing apart and clean it up.

Yes it is. I can take my GG totally apart and put it all back together by myself. I love knowing that I can fix any problem I might have all by myself. :):):)

Thanks guys. Now... how do I clean the center pole on the atty cap? BTW, just got my polishing cloths, and they are amazing (and smell good too!) Also, I want to get inside the lip of the atty cap bc there's juice build up in there. There's another thread around here somewhere about that...going to see if I can find it. Is all of this cleaning info in one place, and I am just not seeing it?

This is a difficult part my friend. Try to put the cloth inside with a knife and turn the knife around the channel between connector and cap. I cant think something better :)

Yup..I agree with ya vape, stormy, It is pretty awesome to have the option and know how to break the GG down and be able to clean it up....

Thats why I am so in favor of the mechanical switch.....Its user friendly, and user fixable.

Boomboom,
Anyways, Glad ya cleaned your GGT up and got it back to its normal awesome vapor status. LOL =)

Take the cap apart, unscrew the hexadiagonal (is that the correct word?) nut and take it out, now you can clean it all very easy
