What I've taken from all this is more reinforcement not to ever vape any of them dry. When it tastes like it's probably getting close, I just toss it in the refill box. A singe here and there doesn't seem like it would be an issue to me.

But is it?

I can't link the ECF thread because I'm below 15 posts. Someone else will have to be kind enough. :) It's the thread about possible dangers of burning cartos in the "Electronic Cigarette reviews" forum.

In case some might be overly alarmed by this, I should point out that a lot of the browner colors in the fill from those pictures is likely juice. The only thing I'm a little worried about is the darker burn spots and holes.

Unless you're pulling long and hard on a carto, it's unlikely to burn the filler material. If the carto is getting too warm to comfortably hold, you should switch it out. Preferably before it gets to that point, actually. If you disassemble a carto, you'll see that the atomizer is wrapped in a heat-resistant braid so it's not in contact with the filler. That's another benefit of the VK.

Even if it happened a little bit, I don't think it would be the end of the world, especially if you came from smoking analogs. Imagine all of the toxins in that - you're much safer in our part of the world.

If it makes you feel safer to refill early, then by all means do so. I do the same, just because I really prefer the vape off of a nice, full carto.

I think as long as you are doing this, you should be fine. This is the same thing I do also, but sometimes I just top off the carto with about 10 drops of juice and keep going. I think as long as you are not getting a burnt taste, and either top off or set aside when you first start getting that burnt marshmellow taste you should be good. ;)
