I typically get PG base, as I can get VG locally. It will depend on how your are approaching using your base. If you are getting it at a lower nic level with the intention of just adding flavoring, then it might make sense to get one of each and just combine them in the ratio you want. If you will be diluting higher concentrations, you can also buy plain PG and/or VG at Wizard Labs to dilute it in whatever ratio you prefer.

Yes, only if it is stored in the freezer.
Storing in the freezer, is it good to store all your diy in the freezer (Nic base and plain PG/VG)? I've ordered a new batch and ordered more than I did last time because of the new laws before our legislators, didn't hoard order but bought more than I'll use in the next 6 months for sure.

I have some nic stored in the freezer. As for plain PG or VG there is no need. Those will always be available to the public.

I get 100mg/ml Nic in VG (500ml at a time) from WL that I put in 60ml Amber glass bottles that I store in the freezer (currently have just under 1L). I just keep one 60ml bottle out for use at a time.

I went with VG for a few reasons:
1. Since my flavors are in PG, I figured it would give me the most versatility in PG/VG ratio possibilities. I can make anything from 85/15 to 15/85 (depending on amount of flavoring percentage)
2. With VG being thicker, I figured it would oxidize slower in the freezer. YMMV :vapor:

Cheers,
Steve

I have both 60mg nic and 100mg nic both in PG stored in the freezer. I was trying to make something the other day for someone who wanted max VG and the most I could get with the flavorings she wanted was just over 70% (and that was using the 100mg nic). I usually use 50/50, so it's fine for me, but next time I order I might get it in VG. I do find it a pain to work with VG, because it's so thick, so that's the other reason I went with PG.

Thank you - those are many of aspects I totally overlooked (storage, regulations, viscosity)
Since I go for 50/50 24mg, I think Ill just get both (since my flavoring is PG, at 10% and above). I am kind of reluctant to get nic base over 36mg so Ill get PG for easy daily and VG, VG for long term storage and to bring PG ratios down.
Not looking forward dealing with the 100% thick VG base but with the regulations coming down in California as well (possibly no more shipping nic) I think ill go with the VG in the freezer option as well (got some huge pet feeding dropper already (its sterile and sealed) ).

I can get a 1 gallon bottle of PG for $23 locally but VG costs close to $4 for 6 oz at my Wal Mart. So a gallon of VG costing $84 locally pretty much ensures that I get my nic in VG & dilute with PG. Any nic 60 mg or less is fairly safe if you come in contact with it if you clean exposed skin with soap & water pretty quickly(You sould still use the required safety equipment). I get 100 mg VG nic & any that is not going into the freezer I dilute 50/50 with PG to make 50 mg 50%PG/50%VG nic that is very versatile as far as mix ratios, easier to pour than the VG nic base, & is relatively safe. Keep in mind that it is better to freeze your nic in smaller bottles(60 ml or so) so you are not thawing out your whole stash, exposing it to oxidizing oxygen, & then refreezing it.
