I'm bewildered. I stopped by a shop that sold this stuff exclusively. Picked up plum and cherry marshmallow bottles, and ...? Out of the box, the cherry marsh is straight up cough syrup. Damned near crashed when I hit the first toot. It was that bad. Like cough syrup flavored kerosene. I had a similar problem with bwb 555, but a week with the cap off and it was awesome. These vv juices still taste like somebody melted plastic into a mixture of rubbing alcohol and cough syrup after a week of cap off, and I have to soak my rba and driptip in ever clear overnight to get rid of that funk(still there after that, too, but manageable).
My question for vv fans is wether or not extended steeping/evap will change it that much, or if I should just waltz my happy rear back to the shop and demand a refund. Is there some funky chemical they use for extractions? Is this company known for consistency?

I can assure you that Virgin Vapors is a reputable e-liquid vendor, and has built up a large fan base over the last couple of years. In fact, her Kona Coffee Milkshake was voted as an ECF "top three" flavor poll favorite a couple of years ago.

Not everyone cares for Virgin Vapors. There are a few flavors that Annette makes that I make a point of keeping in my stock of commercial flavors. However, like you experienced, I have tried some flavors that were "mehh" or worse, and no steeping improved their taste. Pecan Pie is my favorite pie, but even after several months of steeping, the juice just doesn't cut it for me. However, I've been using 2 - 3 of her coffee flavors for nearly a year and they have never failed to impress me. Her Kona Velvet Milkshake is one of my all-time favorites, and I always keep some of her Turkish Coffee and Espresso in stock. Her Red Hot Cinnamon is one of the best cinnamon flavors that I have tried, and her Original Sin apple flavor is dead on for a red delicious apple.

Some of her flavors have an alcohol base, and benefit from a couple of days of having the juice bottle tops removed to allow the alcohol to evaporate. Some of the other flavors do benefit a lot from 2 - 3 weeks of steeping. Annette uses all-natural, all-organic flavorings which from what I've read from other sources need additional time to meld into her prefered ratio of 100%vg.

Virgin Vapors has a pretty active vendor sub-forum http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/virgin-vapor/ that you might be able to gain further insight into this juice line, and perhaps work out a trade for flavors that you might enjoy more.

Black Cherry Marshmallow, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Creme Caramel from VV are three of my favorites. They taste great to me without steeping.

I think it's really funny that Kona Coffee Milkshake was an ECF Top Three. I had a big 30ml bottle and loved it so much I bought another 30ml bottle and then had to give it up because everyone at work and at home said it smelled like skunk. Maybe, but it tasted awesome and I miss it.

While I haven't ordered from virgin vapors, I have ordered from other companies that use 100% VG and organic/whatever kind of stuff and I've noticed that they definitely need longer steep times than regular juice with at least some PG. However, considering that you bought stock from a store that already had the juice sitting for a while, you shouldn't need much steeping. If it tastes that bad to you after a week, you may want to take them back and say ......

I was really hoping for responses along the lines of "yea you gotta let it air out," or "I can't vape them out of the mailbox, either." The plum has a good flavor, its just super "perfumey," so much that I have to rewick and thoroughly clean and rinse my RBAs or everything else tastes that way. That cherry stuff is dead on cough syrup. I've let 5 people try it so far, and every one of them had the same response. Their exhale smells like marshmallows in a vague way, but it also reminds me of my mom's purse in the 80's. either way, none of them liked it, and more than one made snarky comments about vaping 'tussin.
I sampled these in the shop. They were good! That was on an ego batt with a crusty boge. In 3 years of vaping, I've ordered countless juices blindly. I have never received an unvapable juice from a reputable maker, ever. Some weren't my thing, like HHV gandalf and booty, but they are still damn good juices. Many cherry flavors taste like cough syrup, but I've never had one feel like I was vaping it before.
Anyhow, in my quest to recover the taste from the sample, I'll et them air out a couple more days. Maybe I'll throw them in some glass on a hot plate with a stir bar if it doesn't help.

same here. day one with BWB 555 and 555E, it was awful.week or so with no cap and its very good. not as good as the applewood, but good. wish the same could be said for the 50ml bottle of EC blends DK555. bought it based on reviews, and it vapes like a corpses toe jam...was the only juice to ever induce vomiting. thought that i could at least use the empty 50ml bottle after i dumped it, but even that was tainted... lesson learned.

So, after weeks of cap-off steeping the funkiness of the plum juice is gone, and about a fifth of the cherry marshmallow bottle has evaporated. I've never seen that happen, ever. It smells much better from the bottle now, but I'm gonna let it continue to steep with the cap on for another few weeks before I try it again.

I have a few I like from there...kona coffee milkshake is one. However, I found their strawberry shortcake to be lacking, and even a year later, no discernible improvement. Their Juices won several Spin magazine awards, so maybe the line's improved. Not willing to try though, since I have other good vendors I where I like a lot more of their juices. as always, YMMV.;-)

my unvapeable drawer even after a year

'unvapeable drawer' lol The thought tickled my fancy AND it's a "drawer", a whole drawer, not just a small box? So far I only have a little box marked "NASTY!"

I have to say though that each person's taste is different. And it makes total sense to me that the OP would find a cherry flavor to taste like cough syrup--that's why I don't want to try "cherry". Although I love real cherries, the "flavorings" I've tasted in my life all taste like cough syrup. I have tried 4 vendors now (only a month in) and was refreshingly surprised that VV tasted so good to me (kona velvet milkshake and french toast out of the 4 i ordered to try, the other 2 were only "meh"). I'm finding you really have to try around if you want to come up with several "standards".

VV is one of the first places I ordered after starting to research juice. I really like their Best Damn Tobacco, Espresso, and Dark Side of the Moon is growing on me. I got a couple of samples as well including In Vino Veritas, a hazlenut flavor I can't quite remember the name of and one that tastes like apples. I can say they all taste just as described. What I like about their juice is that it is not overly sweet and does not taste like artificial flavors. They are a bit on the subtle side but I really like them and plan on ordering more.

Personally, I refuse to waste money on some new e juice that a local vendor does not sample to their customers.

1. everybody has different reactions when it comes to taste.
2. doubt a store would refund an open bottle of juice- why should they? because you don't like it? my guess is they would have a bunch of opened bottles laying around if people could return those they weren't crazy about.
3.there is a reason there are a gazillion(technical term) vendors making a gazillion bottles of e-liquid
4. everybody has different reactions when it comes to taste.
