It's been a little over three months since I quit analogs. My wife and I were coming back from a night out when I noticed that I was able to read street signs at a greater distance than before.

I used to work a night shift job and was finding it difficult to find addresses because I couldn't read the house numbers or street signs in most cases.

It was a near moon-less night out a few days ago and I was able to easily see things in the dark that were extremely difficult before.

My eyesight was generally poor before quitting but I'm pretty sure that it's improving . I seem to be able to easily read things on the TV or business signs or billboards at a distance, day or night, that used to be difficult.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my imagination?

When I was in flight school, they taught us that smoking is bad for your night vision. I can't remember if it was due to the nicotine or the tobacco, but I think it was the former. I believe it affects the small vessels in the eye, and interferes with the whole night vision rod/cone thing.

Sorry, my memory sucks on this, but it still doesn't explain the improvement in your daytime vision. Looks like you're the lucky beneficiary of an uncommon quitting side effect!
