I have the egoVV passthru. Its nice, works with all my different clearo's, but like you asked, no, I don't find myself going over 4.8V. I have, and it works, but its just too much IMHO. Its cheap enough, so it was worth a shot, and I'm damn glad I got it. As others have mentioned, the power button is kind of a pain to find sometimes. I haven't worn it out yet, but I have only had it for almost 2 weeks now.

I have a Spinner 1300mah vv and its fantastic easier to read easier to set more consistant vape possibly one of the best mods i have purchased. Leaves the twist for dead

If the ease of reading of a spinner is important to anyone, don't get the chrome version. It can be impossible to read unless you are in good light. Holding under a lamp doesn't help as it is so reflective.

Just an FYI

I took a dremel tool to mine, to make the power button easier to find.Worked great looks horrible.

i don't see all the problems you guys are having with the button, unless you're speaking of a different eGo VV than i've been looking at:

Stainless EGO VV Battery 650mah 3v to 6v [1209_SS_EgoVV_650] : L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes

notice that is the standard raised eGo plastic clicky button, not the rubber band button like on the KGO VV....

also to answer your question, yes, i do have some devices i go up to ~5.5 volts with....some juices i find taste better at a warmer temp with a 3.0 ohm .357 atty, and i still hold my ground with buying one of each...it wouldn't be a bad investment, especially when the passthrough can be a great backup to your everyday spinner, and when you get home you can vape on PT while the spinner gets charged up for the next day

I think what you have there is a slightly older version, been looking at that one myself. The button ppl complain about is the one on the slightly different ego-VV:

GotVapes' thread on theirs
The Apollo version

When first seeing the pic I was sure the rubber was a shipping protection, but turns out it aint..

those two look like the SLB version aka the KGO VV, if that's the case, the one i was talking about is actually a newer version with the improved button, as well as the ability to charge like a classic eGo style battery (but why would you want to? its a PT)....not taking anything away from the other two, but i'll let you know how the other one's button is when i get mine in...which should be tomorrow....one thing i did read over on reddit though you guys might find interesting, underneath that rubber band is a standard eGo style button recess, so you CAN replace that button with a standard plastic eGo clicky button.

I've considered the spinner and the eGo VV with the digital display, but it seems like all the new products have caused the Joytech Twist to come down in price. You easily find a real twist now at a lower price to the knock off's and the newer types with the displays. The Joye product appears to be of higher quality than the others. I tend to leave my twist set at 4.0v, some times up to 4.2v. I'm using 1.8ohm heads in a vivi and I only use tobacco juices. I'm sure folks who switch up juice flavors adjust the voltage more often so the visibility issues would be more important. Even setting it and forgetting it like I do, it makes sense to have a VV, since you get a consistent voltage with none of the coming off the charger as a powerhouse and dropping down to "Is this darn thing working?" that you get with some of the batteries. Now that said, there's a coolness factor with the ones that have a digital display, so I'll end up eventually buying one on impulse I'm sure. Once this stuff crosses over into becoming a hobby..... you all know what I mean :)

I find 4.8 volts is plenty even with 3 ohm stuff. If you ever feel like you need more voltage just get lower ohm addons.

It's about the power, increasing voltage or decreasing ohms both increase the power.

The following are equivalent and produce 8 watts or the sweet spot for most.
3.8V @ 1.8 ohm
4.0V @ 2.0 ohm
4.4V @ 2.4 ohm
4.9V @ 3.0 ohm

power = voltage^2 / ohms

Thanks for your reply!
Tell me, do ever you feel you need the 1.2 extra volts? Or is 4.8 always high enough?

Have you seen this? Says Joytech twist measured voltage all over the place.

A picture is worth 1,000 words

I have the Spinner, but not the Apollo. I'm getting ready to by a new PV, and the
Apollo appeals to be because of the LCD. However, the 650 mah doesn't appeal
to me. I like higher mah.

As far as the Spinner, mine's been great. I may end up with another one, but the
reason I'm looking for something else is that my eyes aren't real good, so I think
I would be able to see the LCD on the Apollo better. With the regular Twist it is
almost impossible for me to see the VV markings. I can see them on the Spinner
in good light. An LCD would be easy for me anywhere.

The Apollo is the one I returned. I found the button almost impossible to find unless I traced to it from the led readout. Also the led readings did not seem to match what I was dialed into. Which is to say that I don't think they are, in some cases, not calibrated correctly. Just my 2cents worth.

Thanks. That narrows that down.

Did you see that 14500 mod above? it has an LCD as well.

Yes, I did. I bookmarked it along with a ton of others. In fact, I'm leaning heavily toward
it. I'm just skiddish about it being only 900 mah. I'm a very heavy vaper, and I can run
through a bat pretty quick. Well, it seems quick, but it's actually a few hours I guess.

But still.....

Fact is though, I may well try that one.

I've also got Lave Tube in my head (not a pretty picture).

What I want is everything for very little. A lot of units now come with an ohm checker,
and I would like to have that feature for rebuilding attys and stuff.

Thanks for bringing that back to my attention, junkman.
