So, I am sitting at the computer doing a little blogging and when I stand up to get some tea I almost go towards the garage door instead. That is where I used to smoke analogs. It was almost instinct. In fact, I have noticed on more than just a few occasions that I have thoughts of going to the garage. It's as if a siren lives there constantly calling me to my doom. I just can't shake that thought of "going for a cigarette".
When ever I have those thoughts I just vape a little and it goes away. vaping is much more pleasurable than smoking anyway.
And, I'm not saying I am tempted to have a cigarette. I'm not. I have no physical compulsion what so ever to smoke. It just seems my brain is having to readjust and learn that nicotine craving can be satisfied by vaping instead of analogs. Perhaps one day soon when I have a nicotine craving I'll instantly think of the smell and taste of Caramel Popcorn or Monkey Bread, instead of the smelly garage!

I am closing in on 90 days and I have a cigarette panic attack about once every 3 days. Vaping easily cures it, but for some reason my brain still goes to thoughts of cigarettes when I'm caught off guard, especially after I have just had a particularly delicious snack. I think "time for a cigarette". It took about a month to not think of cigarettes in the mornings, but fortunately that trigger has totally subsided. Now it's "What flavor am I going to vape today?"

Go vape in the garage for old time's sake and maybe your brain will displace the cigarette/garage connection.

When I quit cigs for over a year in the past (before vaping), I'd still have to physically fight my steering wheel to not pull into convenience stores for smokes. I hated those 7/11's haunting me.

Valuable post I think. Raw man. Thanks. 3 months, and every 3 days-sounds more like it, since I've heard 10 days and you'll be as cool as a clam, like what?! Tried the gum, the lozenge and went way past 10 days feeling like a clam on the outside and a boiled lobster on the inside.

Go vape in the garage. :) Seriously, habits can be reprogrammed.

I still carry a lighter, for some reason. (COming up on a month off analogs.)

I also stop at my usual convenience store every few days, cause I have a nice friendly relationship with the guy behind the counter. After a few days of buying bottled water, he asked me if I'd quit smoking. I told him about my ecig, and now he has one!!!

HAng in there,
Ande
