Vivi Nova Challenges

I have mixed feelings about the Vivi Nova. One one hand, I love the ease of use - You fill it up once and it lasts for hours of chain vaping. The screw-in tube is great - I'd love to see some tanks built like this. On the other hand, I don't get good flavor from them. In the beginning, it's just weak - no taste. As I go past half a tank or after a refill, the juice seems to turn to sludge. Draw is heavy and it tastes burnt. I'm using 50/50 juice although some juices seem to do better than others.

Any suggestions?

SmokeTek VV Box Mod set at 4.3V. Great little Starter Mod SmokTek "SmokBox VariCool" - Custom Variable Volt Box Mod - Efficient switching regulator! adjustable 3,4,5,6.5 volt's & everything between. Are you suggesting I just have it cranked up too high - I thought about that and have tried dialing it down. Doesn't help the taste and I lose all my smoke.

It might be your 50/50 mix. I've dropped mine down from 70/30 to 80/20 and have gotten better taste. PG carries flavors better while VG creates more vapor. I also got rid of all the sweetener from my mix (DIY) and between the two started getting better life out of my Vivi mini. Went from having to clean it every 2 days to every 4 and the heads are lasting 3 times as long.

Second the above. The Vivis don't seem to do well with high VG - it gunks them up. I use PG 80/20 or 70/30 and get a very good vape.

Yeah I've been playing with my mix. I like the big clouds from the VG but I see your point about it gunking things up.

I played around with my vivi for most of last week. It may just be me, but I'm not impressed. Put in back in the box and went back to tank/cartos.

Same happened to me when I was puffing Boba's out of my Vivi. Since the Boba "Dry spell", I added in some PG nic base and vg which thinned it out greatly and the uptake has been alot better. Looking back at some of my old heads you can really tell the VG gunks them up really fast.

One of my juices gunks up my Nova you can see it on the wick, every day or 2 I just give it a good wash.
As for it, it gives great taste, great vape and I love it.....

Also check and make sure the silicon top cap on the head isn't cutting off the flow.

The ones with the stardust spike cone thing on the top of the head gave me fits with that. The vivi head with the metal cup in the silicon I've not had any issues out of and get good flavor with about 4 weeks life out of the heads.

I have a few of what I'm pretty sure is the real McCoy, Vision Vivi Nova 3.5s. I want to always have something on hand and I'm too lazy to keep cleaning it out after changing a liquid. If I feel like vaping a new flavor I'll just unscrew the half full one I'm using and fill a clean one, then go back to what I was vaping later. Just got to remember to keep track of which liquid is in which nova, LOL. Every now and then I clean one, dry it and let it sit on a paper towel until whenever. I plan on ordering at least one more and a bunch of extra heads. I'm still pretty new to this. I'm trying to keep it simple and it seems like with a regular 650 the 1.8 is OK. So far it's been great and I don't want to jinx myself but knock on wood, I think I've FINALLY found a setup I can live with!

I've always liked the vision ego's now they have replaceable heads they are even better, the only downside is a very tight draw. As people always seem to be saying the vivi's are better I picked 2 up yesterday. Flavours seem very muted but will let them soak and try again in a few days.

Which VIVI version are you using?
The new 2.5 has several changes and is getting good reviews.
What ohm head are you using? If dropping power is losing your vapor maybe you need to turn it up a bit. Don't forget the tip roll routine to keep the wicks soaked. Check the silicone coil cap and make sure it isn't pinching the wicks.
Tanks hold a lot of juice. Always clean after using - before refilling. Dry burn the wick after cleaning to remove any crusted juice.

as above i find that if you tip a swirl it around every now and again it keeps the wick wet and you get a good vape .
and yes always give your tank a good clean when re filling.

They are the mini vivi running on 2.4 heads, not sure of which version got them from Liberty Flights. Have a zmax so able to alter the v/w. Vapour production is fine it's just the taste lacking plus another taste creeping through which I don't get with anything else. Currently soaking one in vodka, will persevere with them.

One other thing to be careful of on the vivi is that the silicone cap has only one correct way of going on. Funnel side up flat side down.

Thanks for the tip. I'm currently using the VN with PG 70/30 and it works great.

Was considering to try some juice with more VG, but those plans are now canceled

I've been frustrated that I couldn't get my vivi to perform, especially since they get such great reviews. I pulled it out of the drawer and inspected it closely. Turns out the small seal on the threaded bottom of tank was defective. I cut a thin strip of Teflon plumbing tape, wrapped around the bottom threads, and re-screwed the tank tube. The thing rocks now! Awesome flavor, and awesome vapor. I wish the quality on some of this vape gear was better. Thanks Nurzrachit, your post made me take a closer look.
