But doesnt more coils/wraps generally equal higher resistance, Longer lengths of wire will create higher resistance. Thus making the theory of a certain voltage on a certain coil go through more juice?? You cant really get more wraps/coils without longer wire without higher resistance.

I understand this and while you are correct, not all wire is created equal.

I can show you two different wire wires with different resistance ratings...if you can wrap five turns in a coil and get say...two ohms...you see where this principal comes to fruition....

Furthermore, you are basing your knowledge based strictly off of resistance, this is where wattage comes into play...8 Watts on a coil rated 1.5 ohms with three wraps would produce less vapor and use less juice than a coil rated 3 ohms with 5 wraps...why do you think there are different resistance devices otherwise?

now I'm confused lol, I'm still new and learning this myself so bear with me! So your saying 2 exact wire gauges same lengths wrapping one with 5 coils and the other with 3 coils is going ot produce different ohm/wattage?

They would have to be different lengths obviously, the five wrap would be marginally longer...as for you're question, if you are speaking on terms of equal voltage, yes, they would produce different wattages....but if you are using variable voltage or variable wattage, both coils can produce the same wattage out put.

Hey Slabb,

When I first started rebuilding my Vivi's I noticed my results varied widely from the wick material I used and also how long the wicks were. the portals the wick pass through and the seal the main tank held were the key. I use a small piece of rubber tubing that fits into the rubber "top" above the atomizer and extends inside of my mouthpiece. This keeps the atomizer post aligned and also creates a much better seal so my tank maintains a bit of a vaccum. Doing this, I could use a smaller gauge wicking material (Cotton) and I don't loose much out the bottom or in my mouth. I would also say, don't worry. If it didn't drip out, it wasn't wasted. ;)

ok I was stating if he's using different heads a 1.8, and a 2.8 head on the same voltage say 4.0 the 1.8 is going to burn hotter and go through more juice. I understand that a 1.8 and 2.8 using different voltages could reach the same wattage output depending on what volts you set it to.

Right...now lets say I achieved a 1.8 ohm coil with five wraps of a 30 guage wire as opposed to the three wraps with a 32 gauge wire...more heat, more heating area, same resistance, same wattage, same voltage....get it now?

Ok so say I like 2.4 heads and I have 32 gauge what's the better option to get less burn but still lot of vapor? So 3 coils with 32g would be better as its less surface area hearing juice?

"better" is a matter of preference...you would burn less juice with fewer wraps spaced father apart...but you may not get as much vapor or flavor...the only other variable that could effect it after all that is wick material.
