Having found the T3 a nasty bit of kit, (not to mention inauthentic), I decided to give my new Vivi Nova a try. After doing some research, I'm now wondering if it's indeed a Vision Vivi Nova....nowhere on the packaging is the word "Vision", although it was clearly sold as a Vision product. And it might work just fine...but my situation Is that hubby's going out of town, I want to have him all kitted out, I'm almost out of the carts and attys that came with the starter kit, and at least some of the money I've spent has been on products that may have been mis-represented. I don't want to send him off with some leaky/gurgling/whistling disaster, and thus I was prepared...I thought.

Wish me luck with the Vivi Nova. Sigh.

Well, it doesn't seem to be leaking or doing anything catastrophic, but it tastes very odd. Like scorched cotton, sort of. Maybe that will clear up? I'm just a bit bummed by the fact that I thought I was being so proactive and prepared by ordering different things. But if they don't work, it was a waste of time, not to mention a waste of $$. Still, I think hubby has enough equipment (cartridges and attys) to get him through his trip, and this week I'll do more research.

SoUnique, it was a kit, in fact it was two kits. Almost $30.00 for two. But we'll see, maybe it will taste better in a while.

If by chance it starts to leak a bit, remove the silicone gasket ring, and just tighten down the head a bit more. I found that some of mine fit just tight enough, that when I removed the top to fill it up (turning counter clock wise), it would slightly unscrew the head.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot....where is the silicone gasket ring? I don't think I saw a ring?

It's the little ring (looks like a piece of clear hose) on top of the head/coil, that seals the tube to the mouthpiece. The only idiots I know are the ones still smoking :D

I have authentic ones and I also have clones. The clones are actually very well made and I see no difference in quality. The only difference was in the packaging. Actually the packaging was almost the exact same except the clone did not say Vision on the box. Any burnt or dry taste can be attributed to poor wicking, which is normal on a new vivi head anyway. When filling a dry tank with a new head, I always add a drip or two directly on the coil to alleviate this problem. Depending on the thickness of your juice, you'll almost always have to vape the vivi in a horizontal fashion. Or simply dip your mod upside down quickly once in a while to help with wicking.

From what I've read Vision is a brand, not a manufacturer. I've got Vision labelled packaging and non-labelled packaging with the exact same quality. I know a handful of vendors buy things before they're branded by Vision to save a bit of money. It's a tad annoying they're still marketed as Vision, but on the other hand that generally means they're the same product, even if they aren't branded.

I think this was mentioned, but with any top coil clearomizer you'll have to tip it occasionally to get liquid up to the wicks, more so when the liquid level gets lower. Also after filling, leave it a few minutes before trying it, so the liquid has time to wick up to the coil, that should help prevent the burnt taste.

Hi Dashe, just for your info, and so you can all laugh a little... (i did) don't nonchalantly unscrew the vivi from the battery without looking by grabbing the tube portion of the vivi and ending up unscrewing the tank from the bottom base and leaving the bottom base on the battery and the left over juice all over my pants... just saying... made a little mess... now i'm a bit more careful... hehehe

If the air holes are on the sides of the 510 connector, it's authentic. If the air holes are at the widest part of the base it's a clone.

These clones with no air holes on the sides of the 510 connector are junk and will start to taste of burnt rubber after only a little use.

Two air holes on opposite sides, right above the threads. So that's a good thing, yes?

Oh I would be SO capable of doing that! When I first filled the T3 I squirted an entire large syringe of juice directly into the metal center. This was not a wise choice in terms of squirtage. The mess was impressive.

Perhaps we are siblings, separated at birth?

LOL That's probable... separated and then sent to both ends of the country (I'm originally from the east coast) hehehe

Just to let you know, and perhaps SOME VETERANS HERE CAN HELP... I also got 2 of them mini vivi nova, and I found the drag to be different. meaning that on the Vivi nova their seems to be more restriction of air flow while taking a vape then from the mini vivi nova. it's not a big big deal as I get the same type of smoke, taste and TH, but when I switch from one to the other it feels weird a bit having to adjust the speed of suction...

anybody noticed the same?

Reg

One thing I find helps tremendously with wicking on the novas/mini-novas is to 'fluff' the wicks first. I just use a pin and un-twist the strands of the wicks. You don't have to separate every individual fiber, just un-twist the 'bundles'. I found I don't have to tip at all until I get to the last little bit of juice in the tank. Good luck and happy vaping!
