Vivi Nova Thoughts

Hey everybody!
I am a new vaper...have been tobacco - free since April 28th, 2012 (and loving it!).
Just had some thoughts about the Vivi Nova. I find that I like the bottom coils much better than anything else. I like the idea of the Vivi Nova, but the wicks would be annoying, especially the further down the juice got. When I first started vaping I had used the Stardust Clearos but they just couldn't keep up, since I vape like a fiend. I had tried the Kanger T0 and that was ok except that the drip tip would melt from the heat of near continual vaping I have not yet tried the Kanger T3...it looks great but I was concerned about melting the drip tip on that too. I use the kanger cartos now (because of the horizontal coils and tighter draw) but would like a tank becase I am constantly dripping into my carto because I vape so heavily.
I guess what I am getting to is..it would be nice if the manufacturer of the Vivi Nova would do a version of it with the horizontal/bottom coils.
I'd buy that puppy in a heartbeat!

As an aside: I'm presently using an eGo Twist at 4.0v and Kanger LR carto, but will soon be getting an iTaste MVP (can't wait, OMG).
I normally vape fruit/sweet juices at 18-24mg

So far, after about 12 hours of use, my initial impressions of the VVN are positive. Giving better flavor than my Smok ReDux, solid vapor, no leaks, no wicking issues as of yet.

After that ReDux this thing is a miracle. I don't mind Boge 510s but I tire of them quickly, so I couldn't wait to try out the VVN.

Though once I run through the heads I've got, I'm going to try my hand at rewicking and coiling them. The SS mesh is seriously tempting to me, as is the bamboo wick.

I think there is a love / hate relationship with the Vivi Nova and Mini Vivi Nova. I have been waiting for Smokless Image to come out with their version of the T3, but then said what the heck and bought a true Vision Mini Vivi Nova. Maybe my fault, but I first just filled the 2.8 wick and started to vape. BURNT taste! Washed it in Vodka, rinsed and dried and tried again. Still got some burnt taste, but reduced.

I then tried the 2.4 coil, but I rinsed it out first and dried it before vaping. My juice just does not taste the same with the Mini Nova, It has a weak flavor and the draw has a lot of air. I vape 50/50 PG/VG EC Blends RY4 which normally is potent and strong flavored, but in the Mini, it is very weak.

Not a happy camper and will wait to try the Smokless Image T3 when they come in.

I'm not sure if its recommended, or if it helps (can't see how it wouldn't) but I primed the head on my VVN before putting everything together and filling. But having had a V2 and the ReDux give me that 'burnt taste' I was extremely relieved to not have it with the VVN.

Oh and I immediately replaced the plastic tank with the aluminum.

I'm thinking there is a QC issue with the VVN, as I've never seen so many people divided. Even with accounting for personal preference it seems like its all over the place.

I have to confess that I have not segwayed into the dual coils yet, lol...I have been thinking a lot about them too
i guess that I have fallen in love with the horizontal coils..they seem to last longer for me. The iTaste MVP kit has 2 DC Clearos in them so I will get a chance to try them out when I get my MVP

I'm definitely curious about the T3...it would be nice if I could replace that plastic drip tip with a Stainless or Aluminum one, though. That Kanger T0 vaped great but I was really bummed about that drip tip disintegrating on me like that. Also certain types of juices absolutely nuked it (like my Sweet Tart)....

I have a couple Vivi Nova v2s, and even though I liked how much cleaner the flavor was vs my Boge 3.0s in a 3ml tank, it just did not produce the monstrous amounts of vapor or allow for a strong pull off of it (I find the VVN to have a tighter pull).

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but so far it's not enough to pull me away from my trusty Boge 3.0/tank setup (using a Provari).

May have to look at the T3s next...

I believe you can widen some air holes on the VVN to increase airflow. I've not really looked at em but I believe there is a tut around somewhere.

For me while the draw is a bit tighter than other things I've got, isn't affecting the vapor production.

Currently on my Provari @ 4v with the 2.8Ω head

Hi - be careful with the Kanger. If your juice melted the tip, it will etch/discolor/melt/destroy the T3 tube after awhile. Vivi novas would be incompatible too. I like cinnamon, a known gear killer, so for that flavor I use polycarbonate or glass tanks.

Just a FYI...the Kanger T3 is a bottom coil. The T2 is a top coil.

Thanks....I will def check out the polycarbonate tank since I do fruit/sweet tart 99% of the time. I was pining for a Phiniac but that's a bit rich for my blood right this minute.
Also...I was looking on the Smokeless Image site and they have Stardust style clearos out of "new plastic" (maybe poly?)that they claim will take any juice. Has anyone had any experience with these?

The Claros that come with the MPV are very much stardust/CE6 like.
Almost any cartomizer can be "punched" and used in "DCC" tanks as long as they fit. ( you could punch your favorite Kanger/boge single Horiz coil cartos and use them) .
Good luck with the Innokin. My AIO hit the trash, batteries and all after less then a month.

Ray @ Valley View Vapes has easy to use polypro tanks. I don't think they're the prettiest in the world, but they are work horses and inexpensive. The side screw also makes them very easy to fill.: Triple V Polypro Tanks

WoW! Thanks for the link! The pyrex tanks are reasonable, too! They are now on my VapeList, lol
