I have one of these too but untill now no problems but the squeeky sound when charging for the first hour or so. After testing i came to the conclusion that it occurs because of the high drain from the charger. Maybe that's what killed yours.

I never have my charger plugged in before inserting the batts and never take them out with the charger plugged in. Using it for about 4 weeks now, 3 times a week (depends) so it must be getting "old".........

Will give an update as soon as it survives the 5-6 week usage.

What does it do with a longer battery? Like an xx500 or xx650.

On some of my chargers with the slides (like my TR-003-P4) I sometimes have to give the slider a nudge towards the - side of the battery for it to make good contact. Or try spinning the battery while it's in the bay.

Bring it up to the CTV meet in Round Rock tonight and let's have a look. I'll bring some longer batts.

I have been using 18350's on my TR-001 for a month as well. They are working great so far, however, the first few times I used them in the charger, I had to spin them to a position that made the light red. Now I just set them in there and plug in the charger and they work. I am using some generic flat top, blue imr 800mah batteries, and it charges them to 4.2v. :) It does make a high pitched noise that is barely audible while charging and has done so the last couple of years I have used the charger.
