But yeah, alcohol is nice in juice - I make my homebrew with it because it gives a better throat hit than water.
I am using my mini pipe and an atomizer that hadn't been working very well and this is the second day that it's actually working quite 'good' with juice that has some vodka added to it........... Although in this game a couple of days doesn't mean anything, it probably won't be working by tomorrow.
I ran out of juice a long time ago and made my own with a nicotine extraction and glycerine/small amount of distilled water, and they didn't seem to want to mix so I added a little vodka (maybe slightly less than what you used but a good amount) and it worked very well. Perhaps there is an azeotrope formed between the glycerine and ethanol (in addition to the one formed between water and ethanol) that helps it get carried away faster and thus provide better/more rapid vaporization. Not sure though, if you do any testing on it please let me know.
I add about 5-10% vodka to all of my mixes. I knew that some people had used different forms of alcohol when mixing, so I chose vodka because we have it. I usually take a PG mix with nicotine, then add that same amount of glycerine, then some flavoring, then 10-20 drops of vodka (when making about 8-10 mL of juice). It improves the hit, brings out the flavor, and things the juice just enough (since we use half glycerine, sometimes the flavoring doesn't dilute it enough). Also, we are kinda going off of the idea that alcohol is a solven to PG in the original state (I don't know which thread I read that on), so I figured it couldn't hurt to add some, maybe it will help to improve atomizer life. No decisions as to whether that helps or not. I can say this much, my husband grabs a new atomizer usually around monday when he is fed up with the prior weeks vape...he didn't grab one last week, and not yet this week...it's the only atomizer that has lasted him more than a week...but don't read too much into that...could just be a good atomizer!
I also seem to have had some sort of lucky hit on the perfect viscosity by adding the vodka to the juice, I have been able to top up my cart with 14 drops of juice and merrily vape away until it runs out and needs refilling with another 14 drops. Everything is working just right at the moment ....OHHH please let it last!!

I imagine that rum would soon clog up an atomizer unless it's clear.

Sounds like a fun idea and sorry if I'm being a killjoy - but please remember you've been vaping alcohol if you're going to drive 8-o
With the length of time these mini pipe atomizers last me, the worst thing it could do is make them last 'longer'....lol.
I don't see why. Dark juices have that reputation, but I wonder if it's just that a lot of dark homebrew isn't properly filtered? ie: it still has chunks of leaf floating around in it (and certainly it looks like strong coffee!)
A dark rum will be coloured with caramel I assume, and I haven't noticed that degrade atomizer life in my hazelnut liqueur blends.
But I haven't had time to run controlled tests of all possible variables on my setup, so as ever - YMMV
If anything it will lengthen it, because alcohol will extract more heat from the system as it evaporates (lower boiling point and higher vapor pressure.) So your coil will run cooler, and be less likely to burn out (can't guarantee it won't gunge up faster though - swings and roundabouts!)
Should I happen to vape 50 minipipe carts (1 pub double measure,) of neat vodka in the space of an evening, be reassured that I will not be getting behind the wheel

That would gunge an atomizer! Considering the cream content, I think it would curdle to a sort of alcoholic cottage cheese vape
