Hi All

Total newb here and am glad I finally found my way to ECF. I'm trying to kick a 40 year, 2 PAD nasty habit and decided to start with the Volt Pack Kit and work up from there (already wishing I'd gotten spare batteries). Anyway, does anyone know if the cart included with Pack Kit is the same as the carts sold separately at SI? Specifically, I'm wondering if the Kit carts are truly one-use throwaways or if they can refilled 2-3 times?

TIA for any info and thanks again for opening the door to a (hopefully) soon to be xsmoker.

All of the cartos are the same and can be refilled until, from what I am told, die. I still have the first five cartos I bought and I have refilled them a few times but have since moved to the CE3s and the clearo........now waiting for the new stuff to come.

I still intend to keep the cartos around and there are some videos you can find on youtube to show you how to refill them. It can be as easy as dripping new juice in but if you do some research before you start refilling them, you may find it helps not only to not waste juice but to save some questions while in process. It is really easy to do though

I agree with what drummerskey said.

FYI, there is a sub forum here for Smokeless Image, you should check it out if you haven't yet.

e-cig sub forum for Smokeless Image: Smokeless Image

They are very responsive in that forum to any questions you might have, also they have stickies with videos on most aspects of their products.

Congrats on taking this step, and good luck!

Thanks, Mark. I've tried and failed so many times it's ridiculous. I'm hoping this is finally going to do it for me. I saw the SI sub forum, but I think I have to post 5 times here before I can post elsewhere. Not sure about that, but that's the way I read the "rules".

Oh, you will find plenty more things to order other than batteries. A month ago, I said, "hey, I am just going to get a few things to try". That turned into about 5 orders in the past month. For me (and I stress the for me part", I would say you should have at least 3 batteries on hand but there is no such thing as "too many". I ran out of charge on three I had with me and thankfully, I had a 4 that was charged. I then bought an X2, it has a "pass through" feature which means you can charge and vape at the same time.

I bought a PCC (MEGA) but I honestly don't use it that much. It is handy in a pinch because you can charge the box and then charge the bats but if you have a few bats, you can charge one and use the other. The length of time to vape is about the length of time to charge.

I tried every flavor on Smokeless Image, it is good to try everything and the sampler packs work well for trying new ones. If you like it, buy a bottle. I also tried the "clearo" and the CE3 and I like them but what matters most is what you think. They also have new items coming soon.

What keeps me coming back is SI's customer service, it is fantastic and they take care of their customers. I agree with going to the sub forum, they are very helpful. Try what you can (or as you can afford it) and enjoy your adventure.

Yes, I've watched several of the videos. Seems pretty straightforward to refill the cartos. It's good to know that the ones included in the kit are representative of what I can expect. I've been reading about the new CE3 coming out and from a cost standpoint, that certainly seems to be the way to go. Next order to SI will probably include a couple of their sampler juice packs to see what flavor(s) may work for me. Thanks the input.

Hehe, you and I are almost there. I wanted to make sure you knew they were there.

Although I just started posting, I have found that forum amazingly helpful answering almost any question I have. Plus it's also great to find out about sales.

I ended up starting with a couple X2 manual batteries (900mah) and love them. I recently ordered a 78mm chrome auto battery and really enjoy that also for something more cigarette like.

I moved almost instantly from the cartomizers to the clearomizers and never went back. Waiting for the new generation ones they are introducing next week.

Good luck!

Mark

LOL! Yeah, I'm sure batteries are only the beginning of the adventure. With what I've thrown away on cigs the past 40 years, I could probably have a memorial warehouse at SI by now. I'm really anxious to give this a legit try.

Good luck ditching your 40 year habit. I too have smoked for 40 years and I'm down to 3 cigs/day and will be quitting any day now. It can be done.

Me, too, on the trying and failing, Trainguy. With the Volt, I cut down on smoking by half immediately but... I did have to find the right mg level and that took me a little bit of effort. None of my juices are going to waste but I had to get some 24mg for the super cravings but it is too high mg for my all day vape.

After 3 weeks and getting my set up the way I like during that time period, I decided to cut down by 2 more cigs a day. So, from 40+ to 20 to 18. That's just the way I decided to do it. I had to build confidence in myself and build a couple of new habits before I could start cutting down further. I just know I will have quit by me personal goal of Sept 28th when we leave on vacation. I already feel better and have saved about $100 in cig costs.

Some people quit immediately but some smoke and vape for a time. Either way you are smoking less and, hopefully, even less and you can do it at your own pace.

I'm glad to hear the Volts are working for people. $$ aside, it's to the point that I can't stand my own menthol stench any longer.

Well, I know I smell like cigarettes and it is a bit embarrassing but what is worse is when I walk into the house after being gone all day and the smell is just overwhelming. I know the house smells bad but I haven't been able to make myself smoke outside. In Northern Nevada if it isn't too hot it's too cold and if isn't too hot or cold it is 40 mph winds.

I think the house is smelling better already and I am working on taking the curtains down and washing them up. I really do want the house to smell better. I am smoking my cigs outside now since I can vape inside. Cigs are getting to be less appealing. Today I am playing the just wait an hour game and now it has been 3 hours since a cig. Yeah!!! Not going nuts or anything:)

that is what I forgot......play with the nic contents. I started with 18mg and then moved to 24mg and then started buying a mixture. You want something that will kick the cravings but not a high content (if you can avoid it) at night but I dont remember why. I actually had not intention of quitting at all after 24 years and a PAD habit. I just wanted to smoke in the bars but as it turns out, I just stopped buying smokes after a week and havent had one since. To be clear, like Renolizzie said, there is no right or wrong if you cut back.

Wait until your taste buds and sense of smell return......my employee was sucking on a cough drop in my office yesterday and I felt like I had just buried my nose in a thing of Vics Vapor Rub and I had to ask him to leave.

If you need any other help, PM me or get enough posts to be in the SI subforum.....Everyone there is great

hey trainguy!
i also started and am still using the volt. now that i'm 3 months in, i can tell you the biggest difference for me in being able to replicate the feeling of smoking a cigarette is going with the ce3's. the cartos are nothing compared to ce3's...just in case those don't do it for you..highly recommend.
