I wondering if anyone has considered using this device in a mod?

My wife got a couple free when she got her phone from Sprint. I didn't think much about it because I didn't think a AA battery wouldn't be able to provide the power required. Boy was I wrong. This device will take the output of any AA battery and step it up to 5 volts. If you use strong enough AA battery it should be able to power an atomizer at 5 volts @ 300ma. Using just the supplied adapter cables you can use it to recharge your PCC. Also it could be used in a battery mod to power an atomizer at 5 volts.

I have tried it and it really puts out 5 volts with a Energizer lithium AA battery. The description states you can use any AA battery. It will be real good to recharge my PCC when I don't have access to any other power source.

Just thought I would put this out there and see what you guys think.

It will not power your atomizer because you would need at least 1000Ah for that.

But it has already been converted to a mod (using the case only), i just don't seem to remember who did it.

The stock battery for the 510 is only 180ma and it vapes just fine. My nicostick only has a 900ma battery.

It will not power your atomizer because you would need at least 1000Ah for that.

I tried the 14500 battery but it wouldn't work. I guess the circuit is protected from over voltage. I'm going to see if it will recharge the PCC tonight. I need to run it down some first.

A 5 volt 300ma power source should power an atty? If it was driven by a 2400mah 1.2 volt battery. Wonder if anyone has tried it?

Many have tried using 300 to 500 ma 5 volt battery packs/chargers, they will shut down because of the over current protection.

You need closer to 1000ma to power an atty.

Something like the Kensington Ultra Portable Battery Pack will work and work well, it puts out 5v at 1500ma. Other devices with similar output will also work.

Well, it was worth a try. It does work to charge the PCC. That would be a plus for me since I didn't have to buy it. At 20 bucks it isn't a good buy just to charge the PCC. I can't imagine a disaster where I would lose access to a good 12 volt source to recharge the PCC.

Well, it did charge the PCC but it took 2 1500mah AA NMhi batteries to do it. So this might have been a good idea, but not worth buying.
