I recently got myself a USB passthrough for my 901. Should I be getting more vapor and more TH when using it on the USB? Theoretically a USB port should be 5 volts, correct? And I am assuming that the 901 battery is 3.7? I really don't notice any difference running off battery or USB except that the hits are more consistent. Maybe I was having to high expectations of vaping at the 5 volt sweet spot? Also I thought I'd notice a difference using the back USB vs. the ports in the front as they usually have a lower voltage.

I've actually seen it many times suggested that you don't use the USB ports on your computer or laptop, because the voltage might vary.

I have seen people mention that it's a good idea to use a standalone USB hub (like a 4-port) that has it's own power supply plugged into the wall.

I cannot comment on the voltage of Passthroughs yet through, because I have yet to receive mine to test this out.

The PT I got is a cheap one I picke dup in the classified here on ECF. No battery in it, just USB to the atty. I have been plugging it in to the front port and back port (on the pc) and also in to a Belkin 4 port powered hub. I haven't been able to find the amp put out by the hub, even emailed Belkin and they didn't know. I actually get hotter vapor when pluggen in to the PC itself. Most of what I have read about not using the port on the PC is to mitigate the chace of blowing out the mother board due to a poorly made PT. Since I work in IT and get a new computer about every week or two I'm not too worried about keeping my PC in tip top shape.

Would a better quality PT maybe work better, or is my best bet to find the exact volts and amps put out by the front, back USB ports and the hub itself? I will be getting a big batt mod soon when I get the money together. Probably a chuck or maybe somehting that runs at 5v.
