Voltage regulation

I'm wanting to build a variable voltage mod.
I've been looking all day for a good switching voltage regulator. TI has some nice ones, but they are limited to 5.5v. I'd rather not use a linear regulator.
Best I've come up with so far is one on ebay http://goo.gl/N6mnV
On that one I would probably desolder the pot and replace it with something I could turn by hand and have access to on the outside of the mod like a thumb wheel or something.

Has anyone else come up with something better?

I have used the DE-SWADJ3 in quite a few mods I've built for myself and friends with great ease and success. It's a tank. Currently have several set aside that I have plans to remove the pot and replace it with a digital DS1869 connected to a simple rocker switch or a capasitive slider to control the up and down. Oh if there were only time.... the tax man cometh.. and consumith my time for now.

Good luck my friend

Note to self - don't forget the Voltage/ammeter/ohmmeter and wattage read out. Oh! and the battery fuel gauge with low bat warning :vapor:

Just a note on the above -- It'll run dang near 2 full days with a LR306 on a couple 16340's - NO PROBLEM

Past performance does not dictate future results. Depending on investment stratigies in batteries, results may vary with both the potential of losses and gains in performance and experiences - as will vaping style, frequency of use, and care in choosing and assembly of compents

Hrm, not worried about going over 6v really. That DE-SWADJ3 looks a good bit more compact then the one on ebay. How easy is it to get the case off of it to change out the POT?

Pretty simple - cut the platic wrap and peel in off.

It fits nicely in a AA slot with room to spare (about half the chamber) - So there's plenty of room for an atty connect, switch, FET, LED, etc.
