Today we’ll take a closer look at the two newest members of VooPoo’s legendary Drag family — the Drag S3 and Drag X3 pod mod devices. Since both models share very similar specs, I’ll be reviewing them together in this post. Before we begin, I’d like to thank VooPoo for making this review possible. After about three weeks of daily use, I’ve prepared a fully unbiased and experience-based review. Grab your coffee or tea — let’s dive in!
First Impressions
To celebrate their 8th anniversary, VooPoo has refreshed not only its product line but also its branding and website design. The new vibrant yellow packaging stands out immediately and feels very premium in hand. The boxes are sturdy and protect the devices nicely.

As with previous Drag models, firing speed is insanely fast. The Gene TT 2.0 chip delivers instant firing and rock-solid performance, providing a smooth and satisfying vape experience every time.
Cartridge & Coil Performance
Both devices are compatible with the PnP X coil series.
The Drag S3 comes with a PnP X MTL cartridge, while the Drag X3 includes a PnP X DTL cartridge.
Each has top airflow, adjustable air control, and 5 mL e-liquid capacity (2 mL for TPD versions).
Additionally, there are integrated disposable MTL and DTL PnP X pods available.
The MTL cartridge includes a replaceable 510 drip tip, made of slightly soft material rather than hard plastic. Airflow adjustment ranges from tight MTL to loose RDL.
The DTL cartridge uses a replaceable 810 drip tip, though even with airflow fully open, it’s not as airy as a typical sub-ohm tank — it’s more comparable to the Serpent Mini in terms of draw. I’d personally classify it as RDL to DTL rather than full DTL.
The PnP X coil technology is genuinely impressive. Flavor production is top-notch, and coil longevity is exceptional. Using the 0.3Ω DTL coil, I vaped through a full 120 mL bottle and then about 40 mL more before flavor started fading slightly. With the 0.6Ω MTL coil, I haven’t gone through that much liquid yet, but performance so far has been excellent. Even though I had read a lot of positive comments about PnP X coils, I honestly didn’t expect this level of consistency and lifespan. I’ve never had a stock coil last this long before.

Build Quality & Display
Both devices feature zinc alloy bodies with leather panels, giving them a solid and premium feel in hand. The leather pattern on the Drag S3 is especially elegant. The S3’s base includes a small silicone pad to prevent scratches on surfaces — something missing on the X3’s bottom.
One of the standout features in this new series is the capacitive firing button. Similar to smartphone touchscreens, it responds to skin contact and unlocks instantly upon touch, minimizing accidental firing in your pocket or bag. However, a small note — the button can still fire through fabric, like in your pocket, if pressed firmly. Thankfully, the manual lock system is still available for added safety.

Screens & Interface
Drag S3 has a 0.96” TFT screen, which comes with a factory protective film. I didn’t remove it since the brightness was already adequate. However, note that there’s no brightness adjustment option.
Drag X3 features a 1.66” HD touchscreen. Just like using a smartphone, swiping down from the top opens the main menu.

✘ Cons
* Drag S3 comes only with an MTL cartridge, and Drag X3 only with a DTL one. Despite both devices being capable of handling MTL and DTL styles, this limits flexibility out of the box.
Not exactly a con, but worth mentioning: The X3 requires separating the device into two parts to replace the battery. I can’t help but wonder if a bottom battery door might have been a more convenient design choice.

Conclusion
The Drag S3 and Drag X3 are both stylish, elegant, and high-performing devices that combine premium materials, excellent flavor delivery, and advanced usability. As well as the X3’s HD touchscreen, intelligent power management, and PnP X atomization technology make them some of the most enjoyable pod mods I’ve used recently.
