The original notice for the giveaway on the top of the page finally decided to go away after several clickings of the X. This morning I have been greeted with a floating red banner at the bottom of the page and so far have not figured out how to get rid of it

Hover and click far right side, it works for some

I see that tiny white X but as far as I can tell it isn't separate from the banner. I looked for and saw that X. I have tried to click it but each time it takes me to the entry screen.

Maybe floating is the wrong word. When I scroll a page the red banner stays stationary right there across the bottom of my screen. Since I never sign out I am going to try that and see if it helps.

Hover over it with the pointer (or press lightly with a finger if on a tablet). A X will appear. Click the X somewhere between 1 and 600,000 times (seems to always be a different number of times) and it will go away if your holding your mouth right, the planets align and etc. can you tell I find it unbelievably annoying?

I logged out and then back in and it is still there. Hopefully someone (like the one that put it there) will pop in soon and get rid of this annoying thing.

I am glad it isn't there for you Classwife but I can assure you it is there for me and it seems, many others.

It always comes back for me on the iPad. I don't close the window but when I leave that window and come back after a long time, it refreshes and the banner is back.

It does seem to stay away on my desktop but I don't close my internet windows on that device, I just minimize them.

At least they moved it to the opposite side of the green annoying thing. I have chance of at least attempting to close the pink/red banner.



I truly can't let things like this get to me.

In "Aluminum" there is a green circle with an arrow in the center. Hovering over it it says "Reply to thread". It resides on the lower right hand side of EVERY thread page.

I see.....I am still using the ECF original so not much has changed for me. Maybe that is a good thing

Just throwing this out there hoping something will stick. I wonder if it might depend on which skin we are using. I know it was there again this morning when I got here but I was able to catch the little white X the first time I tried. I am still using the original ECF skin. I usually close the tab at night but never actually log off so logging off and on isn't necessary to get it to show up. HTH

Old ECF skin. Can't get rid of of it no matter what I do. Log out or not. It's there.

Yup! It used to be on the bottom right side of the screen, now it's on the bottom left.

ETA: Doesn't bother me very much--the contest will be over soon; just wanted to show you the screen shot you asked for.

What bothers me are the search and the back arrow in quotes... Still not fixed. *sigh*
