The FDA has started a new feature. They are asking the public for suggestions to the Center for tobacco Products (CTP) regarding "what educational resources you would like to see added to the Break the Chain of tobacco Campaign for tobacco Retailers."

This is a voting situation that is apparently using the same software used to suggest and vote on a topic for Judge Napolitano's Freedom Watch.

I entered the following suggestion titled

Relative Risks:

Provide printed information comparing risk of smoking-related diseases from cigarette smoke to reduced risk from switching to smokeless products.
I then clicked the 3 votes button.

NOTE: The button to vote is located immediately to the left of the text of the suggestion. A window pops up inviting to enter your email address. This is not required information. At the bottom of this popup window are three buttons for 1 vote, 2 votes, 3 votes. Click the 3 votes button.

Please go there and vote. Hurry before the FDA finds out and removes my suggestion. SHOOT: I just went back and saw that my suggestion is "awaiting moderator approval". Fat Chance.

Well, as of now neither comments are posted and after a look-through of topics I'm sure they won't be. Alternative risks are evidently taboo on the site, they just want more ideas on how they can distribute the usual misinformation.

I'm afraid that's probably true. Asking them to give information about smokeless alternatives is like asking the Pope to distribute condoms.

After looking, I don't know that this is such a good idea; they're asking for ideas to educate retailers about FDA tobacco products regulations that protect America’s youth! (exclamation point theirs).

Any ideas submitted that could be construed as vaping-friendly advice to America's Youth will reflect badly on the submitter.

Are you calling me "politically incorrect"?

I thought that was your handle. :p

Right you are. But there's a difference between "politically incorrect" and "reckless."

In the words of General Longstreet at Gettysburg, "I've always been under the impression that it was our strategy to conduct a defensive campaign wherever possible in order to keep the army intact...If we move to the south to Washington, they have to pursue us, and then we can fight on ground of our choosing."

Excellent! I'm at work and the server blocked my comment :glare:. However, it's a shame the masses won't see your blog. Either way one looks at it, be it the absurd ignorance , or the criminal willful lying on the part of the FDA, it's more proof that this organization should be disbanded as a waste of taxpayer money and charges brought again those who've defrauded the public for so long. Very well worded, Vocalek.
