The FDA has started a new feature. They are asking the public for suggestions to the Center for tobacco Products (CTP) regarding "what educational resources you would like to see added to the Break the Chain of tobacco Campaign for tobacco Retailers."

This is a voting situation that is apparently using the same software used to suggest and vote on a topic for Judge Napolitano's Freedom Watch.

I entered the following suggestion titled

Relative Risks:

Provide printed information comparing risk of smoking-related diseases from cigarette smoke to reduced risk from switching to smokeless products.
I then clicked the 3 votes button.

NOTE: The button to vote is located immediately to the left of the text of the suggestion. A window pops up inviting to enter your email address. This is not required information. At the bottom of this popup window are three buttons for 1 vote, 2 votes, 3 votes. Click the 3 votes button.

Please go there and vote. Hurry before the FDA finds out and removes my suggestion. SHOOT: I just went back and saw that my suggestion is "awaiting moderator approval". Fat Chance.

I liked your idea, so I did it again using different words:

Make a graph showing the relative risk of tobacco products, from cigarettes to smokeless , ie e-cig (awaiting moderator approval)

Provides fair assessment of relative health risks of different products to help the consumer make decisions about risk for themselves.

So far, I don't see either of our suggestions being displayed.

I'd be willing to bet that these suggestions put them into a tizzy. After all, the slogan is "There is no safe level of tobacco use." Imagine being forced into providing factual information. How embarrassing for them.

Cold day in hell....

That'd be my guess.

Looks to be that way. They don't want to acknowledge anything about e-cigs as near as I can tell.

Well just 2 more days before the new hearing in the appeal by the FDA. If the same ruling that Judge Leon handed down is handed down again, what do you want to bet that the FDA will appeal it to a higher court once again. And if the court sides with the FDA this time, will there be an appeal by our side? Can our side afford to appeal to a higher court?
