Sorry folks, only been vaping for three weeks.
I was wanting to try a kayfun Monster V3 Styled RTA Rebuildable tank Atomizer
on my VTC mini. (75watt)
Specifically this one; (open to other recommendations)
$9.77 Kayfun Monster V3 Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 5ml / stainless steel + glass / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

The folks at my local shop has the wire, cotton, and is willing to show me
how to go about winding the coil and installing the cotton.

I was wondering if I should expect any issues as far as the mod working properly
in temperature mode with this type of tank.
I am currently using the tron tank with the Ti coil that came with the unit in temp
mode at 500 degrees. It is showing 35.6 watts in this setting.
Also, what size wire I should start with.

I am mainly interested in single coil tanks, having COPD, I wont be interring any cloud
competitions.

Thanks,
Brushy Bill

Saying "Kayfun" will often start a turf war among those who love- and hate- them, so be aware there are biases on both sides. As far as the VTC Mini, it's a great little mod- I like mine a lot, and it will serve you well with a tank atomizer.

The "Monster" KFs have a lot more airflow than the standard-type KFs including KF Light, Light Plus, V4, etc. (there are many iterations as you might have noticed at Fasttech). So to start with, the Monster KFs are more for lung inhaling due to the large air holes in the base. The regular-type KFs are more for mouth to lung inhaling IMHO, although they can be modified to flow more air, making them more suitable for lung inhaling. Either type are best used w/a single horizontal coil although dual coils are not out of the question.

So before going into more detail, maybe outline for us how you intend to use your atomizer and what do you hope to get out of it. Then we can give you some input for wire and coil builds that will address your specifics instead of doing it by hit or miss.

There are a lot of experienced vapers here and I'm sure you will get the answers you need!

I can't control what those will do, I'm not interested in their "turf war", or the
moral/ethical question of using clones.

I just wanted to know more if the VTC would support these tanks with hand wound coils
in temperature mode.

The factory "Tron Tank" that came with my vtc also has a very large although adjustable air intake area.
With the Ti coil, I have been using it at it's widest settings with a "lung hit" type of process.
Compared to my nautilus tank on the ileaf 20 watt, there is practically no resistance when inhaling
the Tron tank. It is working quite well actually.

It is my understanding that the latest firm ware update on the VTC mini supports stainless coils
in temp mode. But that is for the factory vtc coils.

I have been told that drippers provide more flavor, I was hoping that going to a hand wound coil
(even being a single coil) would help in that aspect. Also, thought it would be
nice to be able to have a couple of extra bases to install a coil and cotton in
to have ready for a quick replacement while out camping/canoeing.
While not being tied down to a specific brand/style of coil.

Hope that helps clear up my objectives.
Thanks for trying to help the new guy, and the reply.

hey brother, honestly have a look at the subtank mini. Its easy to learn to build on, has good premade coils and almost everyone has one. It was my first RTA and I still use it till this day.

Drippers may provide more flavor, but it depends on the dripper and your builds in both an RTA or a dripper. If you wanted to give dripping a try I suggest the tugboat V2. You can run both a single and dual coil, it has good flavor and is easy to build on. The mod you have is a good one and you can run pretty well any build on there minus dual clapton coils. You can run any single coil build on any RTA or RDA no problem.

good luck!

Kayfuns other than the v4 should work fine in tc with the vtc mini.

All ss coils will work with the vtc. The preprogrammed setting is for ss316, but as the mod has adjustable tcr you can set it up to work with any ss type. I use ss304 myself.

that clone has no comments yet. imo taifun is better than kayfun. this one is one of the best clone of taifun gt-2 $20.02 HOTCIG GT-S V2 RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer (5.0mL) - stainless steel + matte glass / 23mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
if you still wanna try kayfun, best 1:1 clone is this one, not monster version though $26.58 Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5ml) - 1:1 clone / stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

The Lite has a very restrictive airflow.

If brushy Bill vis doing lung hits hevwukk not be happy with a MTL DEVICE..

I tried the Taifun. The one thing I didn't like was the coil that high off the deck.

you're right if he is into lung hits, he would hate the kayfun lite. but taifun gt 2 is good for both mtl and directly lung vape (mtl with the ptfe tube for reducing the airflow). But again you're right about deck. After attaching the coil, the chamber sleeve must be carefully pulled up again until it clicks into place. but sometimes you can't feel that click and you take of the sleeve from the deck.

My problem is the Taifun will not wick up the bottom third or more of the tank. And from the height of the wick of the Taifun and Kayfun Lite you will have a bunch of nasty brown juuce that will taste awful and be wasted.sane goes for the Orchid v3

That is why I like the Silverplay Nano and Goblin Mini have those big juice wells. I put the tails all the way to the bottom. This way the little but of brown juice is used up before you have half a tank of it.

the Monster has similar big honking juuce wells. If something happens to my GMini I will probably get one of those because u really do prefer a single coil. I am able to plug two of the holes in the Silverplay and force it into single coil mode by plugging two of the wells with cotton.

We DIYers won't mind wasting juice but people paying hard earned money for commercial tasty juice may not be willing to share with the angels.
Well its hardly a third in the GT (majority of the liquid resides above the chamber) and the only time you waste it, is when you throw it lol. If you don't change flavors , no reason to throw it. You could even opt to have your wick run to the bottom of the tank. Not sure how well it would wick but there is always the twist&turn method. Tested working :)

I have a Kayfun Monster, and think its a great tank for the price. I have the FT one with the red and black drip tips, and no complaints whatsoever about the build quality. Just bear in mind it has no afc, so if you prefer a tight draw it may not be the best RTA for you.

I don't see any reason it would not work well in tc mode.

I agree. If something happens to my GMini I will be picking one and probably more up.
