VTR Battery Door

I have had my VTR for about a couple of months now. I use a no-nipple efest 18650 battery. Lately the battery door latch seems to be very hard to move, I can barely move it with my finger. It's also hard to close the door. The battery is a good fit, this seems like a design issue or something else.

Has anyone seen this? Any solutions?

my vtr is hard to close the door, i can't just slam it shut, i have to move the latch then close the door. but the latch moves freely against the spring.

Same here. I hardly used my VTR and begun to have door issues. It doesn't latch on it's own. I also had to slam it and force the latch. IMO without doubt a design flaw.

I've been using my VTR for the last 3 months with AW IMR 18650's and haven't had any issues. Mine opens and closes easily. When I slide the latch, the battery door springs open and I can feel a little pressure when I close it back. Only time I ever had an issue with the door was when I had it in my front pocket once and it unlatched accidentally. Other than that, it's been fine. I haven't tried any other batteries in it yet, though. May be a little finicky with certain battery styles.
