VV e-cig with 1pc 3.7volt battery, but how this VV mod able to adjust and provide 4.0 volt and above?

Don't know if this has boost. But A standard battery starts at about 4.2 V when fully charged, then declines.

Some of these "VV mods" can only put out 4.2 volts when fully charged, but they don't tell you that, so beware !

so what the purpose of voltage adjustable but the battery is manage to supplier max 4.2V? or shall I use 2pcs baterry or unprotected battery?

There is a circuit in the APV that takes that DC voltage and converts it into a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) AC type of output that looks like a DC output at the other end. They vary the width of that pulse narrow is a lower voltage wider is higher voltage. That is how you can have a 3.7 volt battery produce a higher voltage. Somewhere in there there is a step up transformer too I bet. An added benefit of doing this is that the wires carrying that voltage can carry more current as AC will carry further without a high voltage drop.

The battery is was referring to above is so-called adjustable. I bought one that claimed adjustable in three steps of about 4.2V. 3.6?V and about 3.3V. Don't remember the name, but it cost about as much as a Twist.

However, none of these voltage was regulated, so the voltages dropped to about 3.5, 2.7, 2.3V as the battery was used a few hours.
What a ripoff !

(In addition, the battery pulled apart after a few weeks and was then junk.)

Save your money and get a Twist or a Twist knockoff.
