Hey everyone,

I've been searching and trying to decide what I want to have on hand at home and out and about when it comes to powering my vapors for long chain vaping use. I've been cigerette free for a month or so now, and find it important that I have back plans, and long battery lifes. So I've been looking into getting a BEAST BOX- MEL VV Box Mod

But ALSO, for home on the PC, and travel/car I would use the Variable Voltage EGO USB Pass through as seen here...

Variable voltage 510/eGo USB passthrough

SO this thing needs to be pluged in to the wall or a USB useing 2amps out but (normal PC usb use 1amp). So to solve this I could get a POWERED 2amp USB HUB or this baby...

Amazon.com: Anker® Astro3 10000mAh Multi-voltage (USB output: 5V, 2A; DC output: 9V / 12V, 2A) External Battery Pack ( Dual USB Output plus DC Output ) for Samsung Tablets, Netbook, Digital Cameras, DV Recorders, PS Vita, Nexus 7, NDS, NDSL, GoPro; i

10,000 MAH!! at 2amp output and it will charge my iphone. AND ITS CHEAPER THIS ROUTE THAN going the BEAST mod. I figure I can tuck the battery in my pocket and hold the VV USB pass through when I walk around.

What do you guys think?

I know I can buy a sleek slim APV system for 100-150 bucks...ouch, this just seems alot for 1 slim battery build, I dont mind the bulky size...and want BATTERY LIFE.

just go back to smoking, it's much easier.

just kidding, I like the way you think. considering all the posibilites now that I just found the mini usb VV ego PT. solar usb hat.

That 10,000 mah thing's kind of big. I'm thinking of attaching the pt usb vv to this (like either just taping it sloppy for a simplt $25 total almost 3,000mah mod or actually shortening the usb wire and making it look professional)

Thats is nice and a good price. The only thing is that it is only rated to have a 5v/ 1amp out put.... The USB passthrough needs a 5v/2amp output according to the seller. Their are 2amp outputs with smaller MAH than the 10,000 that I posted. But I figure i wont be hiking with it or anything so size isnt that big of issue. Plus I can power my other gadgets with it.

12,000 mAhs for $15.98 with shipping. Output 1: 5.0V, 2.1A
http://www.ebay.com/itm/12000mAh-US..._eReader_Accessories&var=&hash=item51aa28669a

Sold for $8 with shipping, http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-12000...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
That's about $26 total including shipping for a compact (smaller than most long-life mods) 12,000mAh VV PT mod with battery and charger.

My only gripe is that the VV on the mini PT ego jumps in too large of incraments so I can't fine adjust volts. I bet they'll make something more precise of these days.
I'm probably going to pair a SLB eGo-V v2 MEGA 1200mah PassThrough with the portable usb battery when not near a car/wall usb adapter. Or the 1200mahs might last for a lot of the times I think I would need the portable usb hub. The battery in the PV makes it so you don't have to have the wire leading to your pocket when vaping, and can just charge it if needed and keeping it chargin in pocket when not low prolongs battery-life

Question is: is it safe since most MODs are protected etc and might nor have battery vents?

Used my Fastech VV passthru and 4 cell AA setup for 4 days . Averaged 36 hours of vaping per charge and replacing 1900 mAh per cell. I use a smart charger which charges all four AAs at a time but each one is sperately charged and monitored.

FYI I have been involved with all types of rechargable batteries for many years, I have a great deal of test equipment ,high end chargers and test both chargers and batteries for manufactures and vendors. One of my hobbies is flying RC aircraft both planes and helies. I also have a few (?) high performance LED flashlights.
