Hey guys and gals,

I am ready to try 5v + vaping and as I have no friends that vape (yet!), I don't have any readily available to try.

So, it seems I am faced with trying to pick a 5v or VV mod. I have long heard that PT (pass through) is the way to first try out 5v vaping. I will probably do that and I have found multiple 5v PTs available.

My question is... is there anyone that makes VV PT? That would be ideal because it would show me the experience of VV vaping without the heavy cost just in case I do not care for it (as I generally like non-tobacco sweet flavors).

Thanks for the info, links appreciated!

I use tekkon 5v mod that can be used as pt when charging. Onething about 5v defferent ohm atty will change the taste of e-juice. Like standard 510 atty with waffle taste great but some of the tobacco flavors have little burnt taste to them untill i got higher ohm atty. VVPV is the way to go Imo. I got porvari on order and soon as i get it i'm selling my tekkon 5v mod.

There is vv tekkon mod the has dial on the bottom. I think it goes from 3.3 up to 5v, and jolly makes one with a switch that has 3 postions 4.5,4.75,5.0v. They run around 160.00

Yes we need a VV passthru, If anyone knows where it can be found, please post here. The tekk might do it, but it is out of stock and way to high priced for an at home pt.
Wish some moder would make one, could sell alot of them.

Not only is it to high but the dial is easy to knock out of postion. That why I got provari. I paid 80 bucks for my 5v tekkon worth every penny but it hit little to hard for me.

Thanks for all the info folks.. basically what I thought I was looking at as far as options.

But, none the less I really appreciate all the input!

Any of you modders want to throw together a 3.7 - 6v true passthrough you let me know :).

For now I guess I'll get the 5v passthrough (yep thats what I wanted, just VV) and see how i feel about high voltage vaping.

As always, you're all awesome!

I've wondered about buying a variable volt power supply and hooking up a PT to it. It doesn't seem like it would be difficult at all. Has anyone else done it?

certainly have. I have a 0-18v, 2 amp DC supply on my desk for vaping (among other things). I've found it easiest to buy a 2xAA battery box, throw in a properly rated switch and battery connector, and run wires out the back to connect to the power supply. Attach banana plugs on the power supply side of the cable for ease of removal from power supply (not necessary).

Reasonably priced power supply

make sure to also purchase a 5v, 2 amp wall adapter for use. you cannot get 5 volts from a USB port on a computer. The USB ports cannot supply enough current, so your voltage under load will drop substantially, making it only marginally better than a normal 3.7 volt pv.

So basically you're running a boxmod as a PT on a VV power supply. I was thinking of just attaching a usb port to the output and using an HV 510 PT. Either way should work though. That's a good price on a power supply. You ought to post pic's in the modders section if you haven't done so already.
