DAGUMMIT... just bought a Grand... well I guess 2 Reos are better than 1...lol

That is my main concern...Im used to my VV BUZZPRO... so I guess I will be making another purchase if I find I love the REO like I think I will.

I love vv vaping too, but the Grand with a 5v battery hits just perfect for me too. I'm going to enjoy the heck out of the vv wood when it gets here. But they will be a strictly at home mod. The Grands with the 5v battery will still be what I take to work and out and about with me because they are just so indestructible.

I hear you buddy, I am looking to pick up a few my self. :)

I did talk to Rob this morning about the site. And he will be talking to his IT guy,

He has upgraded his site a few times not to insure there is enough band with to handle the traffic but it looks like that no one anticipated this much traffic on the site.

I am sure that Rob and his IT person will come up with a fix.

Ive got to start following this thread too since a VV Grand is most definitely in the cards.

I'm hoping its not as nerve wracking as the VV Woodvil sale was. :)

I guess it's just me I but I find those 4.8v batteries incredibly disappointing they come off the charger at 5.6v but under load they drop to 4.3v then peter out in an 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I was so happy to get a kick for my grand at least I can get a good 5 -6 hours out of a kicked aw imr 18490 I don't know maybe I got a bad set of 4.8v ( they're 600mah ) sure can't wait for the VV grand!

Then that would explain why I like the hit on them so much since I usually do VV around 4.2-4.5v. They do run out of juice fast. But I keep bunches of them and multiple chargers around so I always have fresh ones ready. :)

For all of you trying to optimize the performance of their systems for a sale night - please do not try too hard, because the sluggish behavior and the errors are not at our end, they are server side.

I could explain that stuff for hours (I am an IT architect), but basically it comes down to the server being based on a solution (Joomla and virtuemart) that is very common and free, but simply not built for a sale night that can best be described as a distributed attack.

There is only so much that Robert can do with the server without redesigning the whole webshop. He upgraded the server twice already, but without special optimization, that won't do much.

The tens of thousands of requests that hit the server in a sale just can not be handled fast enough and the poor developer can not test or develop for that situation, because it is almost impossible to simulate thousands or even hundreds of antsy REOnuts.

Robert could build a solution with a real three or four tier architecture (balancer, app server, static server, backend), but it would only be used in a sale night, and how often are those? The servers (and the cost for them) would be wasted most of the time. And IT architecture is not Robert's job, either, I prefer him churning out mods =)

So, to conclude - we will have evil sale nights in the future, and we can't do much about it.

Holy smokes what the heck is that?

*noob question I'm sure*

why is that running at 5v are you stacking batteries or are you beta testing a vv grand?

Gotta be stacked. The fire button on the vv grand is on the side, i believe.....

My guess. Mini w/4.8V NiMH batteries

My set up as pictured:

  • Reo Grand
  • 18500 IMR battery
  • The Kick set at approximately 8.5 watts
  • 2.8Ω DSE 801 atomizer
  • Gil's busted voltmeter (fixed) :pervy:

I only run 4.8v Batts in my Grande
