Sorry to repeat myself here but is there a specific place for me to buy an unfinished box? Rob I think you said a paint plate? I'm still a little confused how to get my hands on an unfinished box
I sell metal mods that are unfinished there called tumbled. I have never sold unfinished wood mods

I will be talking to my web site admin to see if I can get more bandwidth for the vv grands sales .
I will also be placing another order Monday for another 500 grands on top of the 500 I already have .Last nights vv woodvil sale was a eye opener for me I didn't see that coming

ooh nice, now i feel less greedy when it turns out that we love the vv woody so much that we also want vv grands too

So does anyone know if equipment (computer) has anything to do with it?
I know dial up would probably be horrendous...
I have a fast computer w/ ssd too... but i was locked out for most of prime time anyway.
Or distance from the source? (Hawaii)
I even have RoadRunner "Turbo" !!!

It's all in fun :), but come on, there has to be some techno whizz out there in Reonaut-ville.

I think it's a combination of things. If someone has slower internet then it will make the process slower. Lisa said the amount of people refreshing the page wasn't helping. Then you've got the billions, ok hundreds, of people who are trying to buy one. Flooding the bandwidth!

I wonder if after yesterday's festivities Rob is comeing up with a new plan for the release of the VV Grand's ? Yesterday was my first steps into sale day chaos and I learned a lot and it was fun and everyone should have to experience it once.

What I learned :
-Go with the large case of beer or multiple bottles of wine and place cooler beside computer the fridge is to far.
-Depends are a much better option than haveing to go to the bathroom again to far.
-Being locked in a soundproof room is probably a good idea so not to scare pets and small children.
-Large quanities of Valium can be helpfull.
-Everyone is the enemy.
-Dont get pissy with Rob or Lisa because the site crashed and you cant get back in.
-You may as well stay on ECF and post updates closeing all other windows to speed things up wont help.

Please feel free to add to the list :toast:

It depends on how many hopes it takes to get to the server .I have fast internet but to my sight its slow also to ecf .Chances are there is a bottle neck on one of the routers from you to the server .You can run a trace route to the server and find were the problem is but it wont help it will tell you were the problem is though

Lisa, just an idea but maybe you can post somewhere about the approximate number of Grands getting ready and then also put about how many will be up for sale at one time? Maybe you can also include the issues with the site (paypal/check out/refreshing, etc.) and what Rob said he will be doing to try and improve it for next time. My two cents doesn't mean anything really but I thought it might help you to avoid more questions. :)

Edit: and what Rob just said about the internet too :)

I would put it somewhere but no one will listen to me.

Here is the best piece of advice I can give, from my own personal experience.

1 Computer - 1 Internet connection - 1 Browser - 1 Tab - 1 link right to the mod you want.

Go to the page you want. WAIT. Unless you see it not loading (ie the little circle or icon is not animating) or you receive an error (500 internal server error). If you do just hit F5 once and wait and see what it does, error again... Press F5. Its doing its loading (you see waiting for response from reosmods.com) just WAIT
Patience is your best friend for this.

Don't try and load another tab or window to another page on Rob's site. This also applies to using another computer on your network at home or work. It will not increase your chances, most servers will see the request from the same IP address and will not send the data (the page) until the first one is completed.

I have never had much of a problem buying first night on the REO site, until last night, I think the problem was there was a .... load of people trying to buy. Even when the 1st run of Mini Woodvils went up, I got the exact two I wanted. When the 18490s went up, I got 3 that were on my list the first night. I haven't had any problems getting kicked off, or anything. Last night it took 2 1/2 hrs to get the Woodvil I wanted. In the middle of it, I ordered Applebee's take out to go by computer, and then drove to pick it up and came back and was still getting kicked off. I think last night was just epic desire on the part of REO lovers everywhere!

Hilarious!

What's funny is that even though this was a very tough battle...it is not the first, and somehow I doubt it's the last. Since the early sales, the overwhelming demand for these mods has crashed his site and trounced the forum...he got a new site, upgraded bandwidth again and again...it's crazy. Be thankful you missed the days when his site was down that he had to sell through a thread here on the ECF. It was absolutely brutal, angry people everywhere, even had a negative impact on the ECF as a whole during sale time.
