I turned off my VV Grand when I left for awhile today. Just feel better when it's off when I am away.

Came back, turned it on, nothing. Oh crap! Made sure the batteries were setting right. Tried it again. Turned it off, then on. Then didn't remember which was off and which was on. See I turn my VV Woodvil off when I leave for work and they are opposite. Crap! Kept pushing the button and listening. Nothing, nada, nope.

Crap! Finally took the atty off my Grand and put it on. Sizzle..........YES! Put the other atty on. Nada.

Glad I am going home tomorrow. I forgot to put a higher ohm atty in my bag. Will have to wait till I get home to use it. I know I could use a L.R. but don't want to!!!

At least for now my button is working!

Karen, turn your voltage down and you should be fine.

NO! LOL I know it would be but I have two Grands and a Mini with me. I will be fine till tomorrow morning.

It is the high voltage that I want. If I can't do that then it will sit.

Don't you dare call me stubborn either!

Well, apparently the problem was that I overdischarged my batteries... I rechecked the VVG and put on a new 306 atty on it, it fired and then went dead... Checked with a multimeter and there was current, but then I moved the voltage wheel and noticed that even at full it would only give me 3.3 volts... So I took out the batteries, put on my other set and there was the sizzle...

I checked the batteries I took out and one measured 3.3v and the other one, please brace yourselves: 0.5v

I placed it on my intellicharger and the protection circuit on it came on... I then tried it on my trustfire TR-001, it flashed red/green then started charging. I left it for a few minutes and then placed it again on the intellicharger: it is charging normally right now, but I am keeping guard right next to it and checking the battery temperature.

I knew it wasn't the switch. :D I would just pitch that battery not worth the risk
OMG! Just pulled the trigger on a Black/Silver VVG! WOOHOO!! SOOOO excited!

Just thought I'd share and not clutter the sub-forum with a new post! I'll post a pic when I get it. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Congratulations :D

Not saying this is your issue but just an observation..... I do attempt to be pretty regular about switching positions of individual batteries of the set, for VV, every hour or so vaping, but now that some of my AW IMR 18350s are getting old I'm noticing more and more that, with a few older sets, when I put them on the charger one usually turns green pretty soon and the other takes much longer to finish (no matter which charger or position in charger). I haven't noted which individual batteries are doing that but will. (They are already marked with #a/#b and date and sets are never separated.) I'm thinking, if I can identify individual batteries of sets that are aging faster, I may toss the "weaker" ones to make up "new" sets with the discarded (recycled) ones. My oldest sets are from March and April '12 and have been in pretty constant use since then. They are losing use time.

On a side note........... Since I've started purchasing AW IMR 18350 I've received at least two sets, from two different reputable suppliers who have big sales so batteries don't sit long at their places, that never performed as well as the others. It may be the "lots" or perhaps one battery of the sets aren't up to par and that affects it's "partner." Main issue in reporting with some accuracy is that I haven't been good about taking measurements and recording results.

I turn my VVs off, too, when I'm not using them even if it's to run into a store. I got in the habit of doing that when one of my VVWs starting a few days after receiving it; first batch. BTW.... it corrected itself and hasn't self fired since. The big Dawg in the sky was watching out for that VVW.;)

I have 4 batts, 2 sets, for my VVG and I noticed that 1 of the batteries of the set always discharges more, every single time.

That's why I switch positions, several times, during each use cycle. In most stacked battery situations one battery has higher drain than it's partner. By switching them out, while using them, I don't have to keep up with which battery was used, in a particular session, as the drain on each battery is somewhat evened out. (Some people switch out, alternating position for every other use cycle but that is more hassle than I want.) As my battery sets are aging, though, it seems that the switching positions isn't helping as much as when they were newer. AND it still has to be helping some.

We have 8 sets of AW IMR 18350 for two people. Past couple of months DH is hardly using the VV REOs, though. He loves REO Minis the best. I've dumped (they go into recycle to select places that recycle batteries.... our Best Buy takes them) a few sets, along the way, due to very diminished performance and picked up a replacement set every couple of months. The worst performing newer set I purchased in June 12. The other set, purchased at same place/same time, performs normally. BTW... very "diminished performance" is a set that doesn't go beyond a couple of hours.

Although we do let batteries rest before and after charging I think the worst thing that happens to batteries here is DH "losing" or forgetting about discharged batteries that stay in a discharged state for weeks/months until I run across them. It's happened a lot over past couple of years with all kinds of batteries. Storing in discharged state is very bad for most batteries and can even take them down low enough that they will never recover even with best chargers that have "recover" capability. Not "recovering" hasn't happened often but I'm sure the lost, discharged state does damage them some.

Got my vvg back, new button :)

Unfortunately, the feed bottle & tubing are missing from it.

I have some tubing and 6 ml bottles from another pv, but that copper (or whatever) metal tube at the top of the vvg is pretty large diameter. No clue how to get the rubber tubing to fit over it (a bit of pg for lube?) and I don't have a spare bottle cap oring.
