I have a question about the electronics of the upcoming VV. Anyone know if it has a low voltage cutoff? To keep the batteries from discharging too far? Something like the Kick modules' 3.2 volt cutoff?

I've been to the notcigs site and skimmed their subforum and can't find any info out about this.

Yes it does. The chip in the VV Reo is the same as the chip in the Buzz Pro. :)

I watched that review this morning. I wondered if there was a cutoff voltage or whether he just ran them down until it couldn't fire any more. It may not be a huge deal since this isn't a boost chip. But it can't be good for battery longevity to run them empty all the time. So, I began wondering if there was a cutoff voltage.

Hmmm. Maybe I'm not wording my question correctly. I am in no way making any kind of safety claims/concerns. I am very confident of the quality and safety of the build. Mine is more of an economic question as to how long a pair of batteries will last before I need to purchase replacements? I read the thread you linked above earlier this morning and didn't see an answer to the following:

Does anyone know if there is a voltage cutoff where the batteries will not fire the atomizer? Or does it keep trying until the batteries are physically unable to do so?

Your trying to find out if there is a over discharge cutoff built in to the unit. To prevent overdischarge of the batteries at say 3.5-3.2v. Which I agree is a nice feature. Unfortunatly I do not have the answer to that. You could try to PM Buzzkill for the answer or posting over at notcigs forum and sharing the results here.

EDIT: Mud beat me to it again....

I've re-watched a couple more reviews and looked through the VV threads, and agree with Mudflap. It is a good question and I was just taking it for granted that the chip shut off at an acceptable voltage, to not completely drain the batteries.
Let us know what you find out.

If you don't want to ask Mike let me know, I'll ask.:)

Yes the chip has over discharge protection . My batteries should be do to swap out soon I will take a reading when they quit. Mike may swing in and shed more light on the subject.I believe the cut off is 2.75 . I am not skilled in the field off vv electronics this is why I am using a chip from notcigs. I had to no it would be safe for my customers
