I am sure Rob will post an update soon. He has been working hard on the plans for the VV Grand and metal 18490 so he can get them off to the shop to build the metal bodes.

From talking to him last night he has the lay out for the VV Woodvils and has found a good spot for the on/off switch.

That's all I got for now like I said I am sure Rob will post an up date when he has time.
Thanks Wayne!

Yeah, the updates are much appreciated Wayne. I like hearing from the man, but I know that he updates us at each important step in the process already, so even if he did spend more time here we wouldn't be getting any more information than he already gives us. Having you as a go between keeps us updated on the "half steps."

Hopefully redeye'll have enough info to warrant an update soon. Maybe this one will have an ETA that is less of a guess and more of an estimate. Before designs are finalized, ETAs can't be taken seriously what-so-ever as production schedules are much easier to plot than the designing process. You never know what kind of new bombshell idea will crop up and require modifications to the rest of the design. Each new awesome idea takes time to not only conceive, but to utilize in the rest of the design. Finalizing the design of anything is sort of nerve wracking. I, for one, keep thinking, "Is there anything I am missing here? What if I finalize this today, spend the afternoon ordering parts, only to have an epiphany later tonight that would radically improve the values of the product. Would I be able to cancel the orders I've already made?" (not to mention the TIME it requires to cancel orders....and then make new ones after the prints have been updated). I feel for the guy right now. Looking at his other products one can tell he has a passion for the craft, and with passion often comes stress. Folks that have said "it'll be worth every red cent," are only half correct. I feel that he, like many others, often sell themselves short on the value of the intellectual process it requires to get a project like this through to fruition, in other words, it'll be a huge bargain.

I hope you are taking care of yourself redeye. I don't know you on a personal level, but your mod played a huge part in getting me off the cancer sticks, and for that you have my good wishes.

I always find a good way to go is to throw out a number that is much higher than the actual number. When you do that, the real number sounds like a bargain.

I was in SF this past weekend and my GF wanted me to buy her this item of clothing. I asked how much it was and she said $500.00. When I looked surprised, she said "just kidding its 150.00" I then said no problem. It is because I thought it was so much more. When I found out the real price it seemed almost like it was free :)

Ah you get it :) Thanks for this post Its nice to see when people understand. New models always stress me out especially metal mods . Second guessing worrying oh yeah that is natural if you care about your work. The vv grands and the metal 18490s are at the printers . I am waiting for the phone call telling me my prints are ready .I hoped I would get a call by now but I wont push them. As far as price goes on the vv grands I really need a price from the machine shop before I can set a price .The 18490s will be the same as the grands .

wow that's so neatly done you really do some fine work I can't wait! are you going to do any of those fancy Stabilized woods?
vv woodvil prototype I was determined to get this done today . For some reason the snow didn't care that I wanted to use my vv woodvil . No finish a dry box .I buggered the vv chip cover its mine I can live with it I wanted to vape it . I may end up using plastic for the vv cover . I had to make the mod a whisker taller then a standard woodvil you can see in the first pic .
I have to say I am really enjoying this mod :vapor:
