My Bubinga still has a smell/taste to it after 2 days in coffee and 2 coats of Howards also. Perhaps i will change the bottle and feed hose. I am vaping it anyway, but its like i am vaping wooden bobas.

If your Bubinga has a bad smell/taste to it, I'd see a doctor immediately. That's nothing to mess around with.

I would be afraid the coffee would get into the electronics and screw up the switches.

i think some use a cut piece of pantyhose and wrap their mod in it before burying it in coffee. my 18490 woodvil had a strong finish smell to it and stayed in coffee for a few days, still had a slight odor after that but i vaped through it and after a week or so no more smell.

When you remove the cover of a coffee can in the right light you can see a fine dust rise. It might work but I would be afraid to try it. I get dust thou my socks when I mow the lawn. No offence, I'm just careful. I'm waiting for them to come on sell again. So I don't know how bad they smell. I have an original Reo, you know the 801 kind it wasn't that bad. A year and a half and it still works.

that could be true and it never hurts to be extra careful. with my lacewood i wasnt careful and just buied it in the grounds, perhaps im fortunate to not of messed anything up. i bet your reo works longer than we do,lol. if not rob can fix it.

There isn't much poly left on it now. The ends where I hold it is are bare wood, I like the rounded corners of the newer woody's and have been waiting for something new like VV. I didn't want to get a new one just because it's pretty.

I've had to use coffee odor removal on all the new Wood REOs I've gotten and I have a few. DH and I are extremely sensitive to finish odors.

You can help to keep the coffee out of chip area by using some painters tape, but that won't close it up entirely. Leave bottle on and, if you want you can put some self stick kitchen plastic, or self cling, to put over catch cup. If you don't have a closeable container tall enough to accommodate the VVW, you can place the door in bottom of zip type baggie, then pour some course ground coffee in, a couple of inches, then put the VVW into the coffee, upright, so that it is sitting in an inch or so of coffee. Carefully close container and set in a place where it will remain standing and not get knocked over.

When you are finished "coffeeing" it you can use some canned air to gently blow out the electronic area.

You might find that you may have to do a coffee treatment several times. Some woods and/or finishes persist to hold the finish odor longer.

The same chip in VVW is in the Buzz Pro and is exposed to elements via the slit in tube for the wheel in the Buzz Pro. So I doubt that a little coffee dust will cause any problems.

id say get some howards wax and feed on the wood asap. jif sent me some and it works wonders. id let it sit on there all night. if its really bare perhaps rob could refinish it for you??

I have one re-homed first run walnut Woodvil that was used so much that a lot of the finish was bare or thin. A good wax with Howard's and a finish wax with a harder wax seals and protects as if it had a more permanent finish. I use Briwax but I recently got in some Howard's hard wax. They have a lot of Carnauba wax in them; the hardest natural wax know to man. I've finished some bare, stripped antiques with carnauba and the finish is still good after many years of use. Of course the wax will wear faster on an item that is used and handled so frequently but it takes just a few minutes to apply and buff on a Woodvil.

I've, also, sanded the bottoms of several of my first run Woodvils, the ones that were a little too rounded and tipped easily. The hard wax totally takes care of protecting the bare bottom.

I will say that some of the woods are super stinky! I thought when I bought used woodvilles that is was Bobas smell or whatever juice that they uses soaking into the wood.

That is not the case. By posting this I am putting myself in jeopardy of creating competition for my favorite wood on future mods. But i must say the Ebony mods have almost no smell retention or initial harsh smells.

I like light fruity juices. In my Reo Ebonys I vape Ecto, Blu spot, Pink Spot and Frozen Lime Drop and light Virgin Vapors flavors with no problems.

I put a couple coats of Howards in my ebonyVV and I am vaping 6mg Pink Spot in it that Jen gave me in a 2ohm HH357.

Now my Curley Maple Woodville from the latest run most likely still smells like a wood chipper. Right Karen? Lol

The wood chooses the juice...

I brought it to work with me this week. Not noticing any smell but my juice! Enjoyed having a wood at work!
