Thanks Trip It seems these batteries would be a perfect match for the vv grand .I wish I had some in the shop for a exact measurement . I checked light hound they don't list the dimensions.I believe they're asking you if two AW IMR 18350's will fit. Here's a picture of one next to a 14500:
They're approximately 1mm taller than the IMR 16340's and probably the same height or even shorter than protected IRC 16340's.
Diameter: 18.2mm / Length: 34.8mm

2 - 18350's is what I was hoping for. I'm glad I didn't buy the 16340's now. So, it will work with either or?

I bought 16340's too, but I don't care. They should perform exceedingly well and swapping battery sets is a breeze.
Good thing about the 16340 is it turns Grands into 6V so the dual purpose is a plus.

keeping sets together must have some sort of importance and I wanted to know why since I never used them before.
So you can isolate the ones that are losing their ability to hold a charge, ready for replacement. Marking the batts makes them accountable.
Is it better to always use the sets together? Like set A 1&2, B 1&2? Is it not good to mix them up?

Because one Batt always discharges more then the other, it's good to also rotate them from top to bottom since the top batt discharges quicker then the bottom.
you are supposed to use the same 2 batteries together. some believe you should stack them the same(a1 on top a2 on bottom), others think you should rotate how you stack them.
