so far so good been 20 hours since i had a cigg, vaping is great and having no problems with my pv (feel fortunate since it is my first attempt at vaping)

i know i shouldn't go through nicotene withdrawls, but concerned about the next few days and getting the other chemicals out of my body. smoked for the better part of 24 years....heavy.......there is no way i'm getting off this easy

i dont even see that as a possiblity, but again so far so good. feel fine :)

thanks so much to all the folks here at ecf, the help i received here has been amazing........made the transition easier than i ever could have imagined.:)

The first time I switched 100% to my pv I had no quitting side effects.. none... I think it may have been the excitement over the "spiffy new toy" .. I had a relapse at about 6ish weeks... my ticker is counting from my 2nd attempt at switching 100% .. so far so good but this time I had some serious withdraws and emotional side effects to the switch. Same juice both times.. better PV this time (510 vs. 901) but no excitement this time, PVs were old news this go around :p so my advice.. if it's easy this time.. don't stop! lol

Tiffy, I had NO withdrawal symtoms..unless you count a bit of face breakout (at my age no less!) That went away fast. Most people don't have anything but a craving for the other 3999 chemicals in analogs. Just vape a bit more. Some don't get enough nic..so up the nic.
There are a very few who do get some symtoms. I am not sure why. Just don't panic and listen to your body, not the scary threads.
I meant to add that I smoked for 37 years 1 to 3 packs a day in different times in my life. I now vape between 11mg to 0 nic and I can't tell which is which!

I know it sounds too good to be true, but I swear (and I don't usually) I haven't had ONE SINGLE SIDE EFFECT from switching from analogs to e-cig. On day one and two I kept smoking only because I didn't have enough supplies to keep me vaping only, but by day three....perfection.

The biggest issue I had was taste. After almost 30 years of smoking, my taste buds were shot and it took almost 3 solid weeks before I was able to "taste" any of the flavored juice I had purchased. But by day 16 or so, it was like someone flipped a switch and suddenly, literally over night I could taste the most wonderful flavor--that is still my favorite today!

It's nothing short of a miracle.:D

I had no withdrawal symptoms either. It's been 10 days. Also, have been making my own no nic juice because being new to this, I didn't know to order juice when I ordered my pv. So went from 2 packs a day to no nic overnight. I did finally get some nic juice, but have been only putting a couple drops in my cart once in a while to taste the different flavors.

MaryKay....I cannot sing the praises of vaping enough to friends and family that are still hooked on smoking. Some are receptive, some---not so much. ;)
I only wish I had started vaping sooner. I got started, then found out that it's more than just another way to fail "quitting smoking". It's absolutely changed my life. And now....the FDA rears it's ugly head and I'm left trying to stock up on supplies and juice before it get's yanked out of my control.8-o

Mama Welcome to ECF and The Women's Room! Please post anywhere and meet some great ladies. It's nice to see familiar Avitars when surfing the board.
The nic thing for me is overated. It's the hand to mouth that kills me when trying to quit! Glad you at least gave the DIY a try! Fruits are the easiest and you can order nic in unflavored juice to add if you need to. Mostly I pass a 36 nic unflavored across my closed bottle homemade and call it a day!:p

I'm surprised to read this really. I had a ton of side effects.

1. I started breathing better.
2. I stopped coughing.
3. I had more energy (even in this Texas heat!)
4. I started sleeping better.
5. I can taste things I didn't before. (raspberries are really good btw)
6. I can smell stuff again. (OMG someone change the litterbox PLS!!!)

I mean...the list goes on and on!

rofl!! My best friend still smokes and she stopped by and asked if I wanted to run up to the grocery store with her. Sure!!! I got into the car and just about gagged!!! I always hated it when non-smokers complained about my smelly car! Well, now I understand and I'm trying to get my girlfriend to switch to vaping, so I'm keeping my mouth shut, but between you and me.....eeeooowwwwwwww!!!!

I was so happy when I got my own car this year (dh and I have only had the one all these years) cause my dh smokes in the car (when the girls aren't in it) and our last one stunk and had a nasty film of residue inside the windshield that wouldn't come off, also he dropped his cherry on my drivers seat and then on the seat cover we used to cover the first burn up.

Ditto on both. Have support from others going thru the same thing your going thru is key! While leaving smoking behind with PVs is easy compared to other methods, there are times when it seems difficult.

You should go chuck your cigs and ashtray! Make a production from it! I let my boys destroy my last pack and throw away the ash tray. I kept one last cig as a reminder/trophy.
