Okay- I KNOW all the info is on here- ANd I really have read it- BUT- I am wanting to make sure that all my cool stuff doesnt become FUBAR :)

I just want y'all to clarify that I aint screwin up- OR if I am- Tell me- :)

I have a 510- (LOVE IT!) and I have carts, carto's (havent used yet) and attie's.

1. WHen I change flavors, (like a new cart) I should put a new attie in- right? cause the other one has taste from the previous cart?

2. I need to clean my atties every... week or so? month or so?? ( I havent decided on my method just yet--- ) I know this depends on my level of vape- I guess the best way to say it is I go through about 5-6 batteries a day-

3. its normal to add new juice often- (just till I see it kinda puddle on top of the white filter stuff) (like every 20 or so puffs?)

4. Carto's are an attie and a cart combined?? so I need to pretty much dedicate one to each flavor- at least until they are cleaned?

5. Can atties and carto's be cleaned the same way (Like say I used the sonic jewerly cleaning method with vodka? can I toss them in together?? )

6. Are you TOTALLY annoyed with me right now?? :)

I just now quit calling them 'the filter part thingy' 'the burnin dohicky' and 'the battery thingymajicker' - so I might have something messed up-

I am a complete convert- NO MORE analogs! I am SOOO excited- this did in 5 minutes what I havent been able to do in 20 plus years- So I dont wana screw up- I am scared to ruin what I have- then I have to wait 3-5 days on new stuff from a store- OR get another of those crappy ones at a gas station! LOL

oh and 7. I have 3 batteries, 4 atties some carto's and quite a few carts - what is your average 'on hand supply'? I am thinking I might need a few more batteries- I bet I will pick 3-6 flavors that I LOVE and stick to them- I get confused easily :) LOL Although there are SOOOOO many I REALLY want to try- I need to just pretend like they dont exist! LOL

1- You can, but will get pricey if you like a lot of flavors. Pick one atty to drip on and tinker with to sample flavors. Designate atties if ya like to flavors you love.
2- a personal choice. I never clean mine unless I like the atty and put some horrid liquid in it- then it gets a quick clean.
3- no. Your batting is too dense. It needs lightened up a bit, but must be equal in density from top to bottom of cart. Need good tweezies for this. If it doesnt need 10 drops to refill, its too dense.
4- Yes, but near impossible to clean. Dont waste your time on that. BE sure you like the flavor before adding to a cartomiser.
5- No, cartos absorb, and good luck getting it out short of vaping it. You can do tyrain spin, but will still work like a water filter and catch any sediment or particles. It just doesnt work.
6- Not really, at least ya asked questions.
7- I keep 20 atties, 50 carts, 1000 ml liquid, and 5-6 batteries on hand. Batteries last, short of defects, so an extra 4 can last a while. Atties can get killed quickly, or chucked quickly if you get picky. I hate not having enough carts laying around. Love a fresh cart. Try a lot of flavors. Even if not good for all day, youll find some nice switch -up flavors for special occasions. And dont trash liquids unless totally horrid. Taste buds change, and you might like them in a week.
Im eccentric on the stash, and have had over a yr to build it. Most ppl are happy with 1/4 of all that.

And welcome aboard, happy vaping. :)

1. If it's a compatible flavor you can use the same atty. You could also take the atty off, blow it into a tissue, prime with a drop of the new liquid and use the new cart. You probably will switch to cartomizers eventually for your favorite flavors and then every carto is self contained and you can even use clingy flavors and it won't matter because it stays in one carto that has its own atty. if you are testing bottled flavors and have a manual battery, I recommend a drip tip. I also recommend a manual battery for cartomizers because I think they are more likely to leak a bit of juice right where an auto's drag sensor is.

2. When i used attys all the time, I used one all week then swapped to a clean one (after priming it with juice) and started cleaning the used one. By the end of the week an atty would usually be gunked up enough to be improved by cleaning. Some people just blow them out frequently and don't clean.

3. Yes and that is why most people switch to dripping and/or cartomizers

4. Only some people are successful at cleaning cartomizers. Consider them disposable and if you ever manage to clean and dry and reuse one that is a bonus. Cartos are not good for trying out new juices. They are good for juices you decide you like and want to pick up and vape every day or every couple of days. I can get 7 and sometimes 14 days use out of Boge soft-cap carto and I figure for $2 that's a great deal right there, whether I ever successfully clean it or not. I do save up good ones to try to clean some day. I am not counting on it.

5. No - cartomizers are full of stuffing with wires and wicks in it. You could try it but not messing up the stuffing and drying are the tricks. They are meant to be disposable so any extra use gotten out of them is a gift.

6. Nope not annoyed. But that thingy stuff might have pushed me over the edge. hahaha

I have probably 4 different ecigs, more than 3 batteries for most, multiple charging cables at home and work for most, over 100 juices, maybe 20+ of each kind of carto blank I use, 4 drip tips, 3 4-port 2 amp USB to AC adapters, 2 PTs for battery emergencies (like I could ever have a battery emergency again - unlikely), an entire box full of DIY stuff I have not used a single time yet. Carts - very few - the 5 that came with each of my 3-piece ecigs. All I need is one cart for each 3-piece ecig model. I wash it, I restuff with blue foam, if the blue foam gets ratty i cut new blue foam.

For 510 I recommend you try the precut blue foam stuffing for 510 at strictlyejuice.com (75 cents for 10 pieces). When it gets gunky or you want to get a flavor out, pull the foam from the cart and it's very easy to rinse and pat totally dry and reuse.

You and I are in the same place- I have a 510, a lot of enthusiasm, and a million questions. I DON'T have a habit that I had for 20+ years! :)

Some more experienced 510 users may chime in, but I thought I'd give you what I've got...

1) They say you should, but mostly I don't. All my flavors blend well together! So when i'm switching from tobacco to caramel, say, I get several puffs of carabacco or tabaramel, or however you might call it. Doesn't bother me a bit. If I were switching, say, from tobacco to strawberry, I'd clean for sure.

2) I'm gonna say- When they seem to need it. I've read on other threads how some newbs clean their atties carelessly, and damage them that way. I keep mine as clean as I can, blow them out when there's build up, try not to flood them. And they shouldn't need cleaning too often- that said the one I use MOST is getting...cooler, less effective. Time to clean

3) Totally normal. If you take the filling out of the carts, add some, replace the filling, THEN top-up, you'll find you get more in there, have to do it a little less often. But at the end of the day, it's a fiddly little cig. Needs frequent refilling.

4) sounds right- no idea really, but it sounds right. (I don't have cartos.)

5) Awaiting a better answer....no idea, but I'm guessing not qute the same way...

6) Naw- I'm excited someone else is in the same spot. Love my 510!

7) I have three batteries, 3 atomizers, a hand full of carts (like a dozen) and a charging case. This seem pretty minimal compared to most vets around here. On what I have, I can get by. 3-6 flavours. If/when something breaks, I won't be comfortable until more arrives...

Welcome, and good luck.

Thank y'all soooo much!! I know that was a long post- and alot of typin on y'alls part :)

plus my husband says I bounce around and am hard to follow- LOL

I am going to go back over all this info with a fine tooth comb, that way I make sure I dont confuse myself- so I will work on it in the morning- I spent ALL day clothes and boots shopping with my 4 kids- AND went out to eat with them- my poor mind is fried- or what was left of it- BUT- I DID learn to stealth vape- cause right about the 12th pair of boots that 'i think feel okay' on the 3rd kid- I was ready to find the xanex dispenser- (they REALLY need those in shopping centers that sell kids things- AND all walmarts)

Anyway- Y'all have ALL been so wonderful, I have learned so much and am SOOO thrilled- and I am sure I will double check and triple check my understanding of all this again in the morning- LOL

OH and dormouse I am TERRIBLE with names- even for inanimate objects- LOL All my kids and most of the dogs answer to 'george' and I dont even know a George- AND I just give nicknames to everyone and everything- So lots of things here are doohickies, and thingamagics- which annoys my husband to no end- BUT- I think its good for the kids- they have to really pay attention and learn to anticipate things when you need something and cant remember the name-- :) LOL

You've gotten a lot of good advice here, so I'll just chime in with a few quick thought.

If you get flavors that copmplement each other, you don't have to worry about the flavors mixing.

Clean your atties when they need it. If they're not giving you any trouble, don't bother.

As far as spare parts, think about getting a spare charger. If something should happen to your only charger, it doesn't matter how many batteries, atties or how much juice you have, you won't be vaping for long. A passthru battery might suit you as a backup, but you'd still only have the one batt; not a big deal if you're close to a usb port all day.

spare charger! Great idea!! Thank you :) I am going to do a carto for the first time today- I have watched the videos on the 'vaccum method' (even after 20 years of marriage and 4 kids its hard to say 'condom' in public- especially in mixed company- LOL) and know about the tarin spin- I pretty much vape strawberry all day- I have a few new flavors coming today- and will see if one of them is gonna be an 'all day' vape or just a special occasion vape- OR if they will go in the PIF section. LOL

THanks y'all SOOO much!! :)
