I have a E Premium PR101.(appears to me the same as a KR808D-1)
And I am wanting a Passthrough. I thought I read somewhere I could get a USB pass trough that does NOT have a battery in it.
(Because I dont want to have a battery in it it is recharging for me to use. Because that battery would eventually go bad.(after so many charges I am assuming like any other rechargeable battery.) I understand it will need to be plugged in to POWER to work.. which is fine. That is what I am wanting.
I want it to be closed as well. I cant seem to find many of these except one for the 501. And also know what the correct words are for not including the batter on what I am wanting.

I aslo just read it is best to by a adaptor rather than plug directly into the USB port on my PC. Can someone tell me the model number of what I would need to buy at say Radio shack . What I read was ..RadioShack sells a variety of AC/USB converters. Sorry dont know who wrote that but I want to know I am getting what I need when I go buy this.

But first things first I need the passtrough? If that is actually what it is still called with OUT the batter part.

Hope I have included enough information. Thanks so much in advance

Did you mean the Premium PR110? This is like the kr808d-1. I don't see a PR101. Here is the page for the PR110:

E-cigarette, Electronic Cigarette PR110

The Radioshack AC/DC converter recommendation could have been me. They sell several, and I don't think you need the one I got, since it is variable voltage. You want it to be 5 V and 1 amp output, at least, and 2 amp output is better. Some come with a USB port on them, some have a long wire that a USB port-adapter is plugged into. The part number for mine is 273-1696, and I got a USB port-adapter to go with it. the voltage can be 3 - 7.5 V, set with a switch, and I have it set to 5V.

There are 5V "straight-wire" PTs for the kr808d-1. Here is one I found, and its a good vendor:

USB Pass Through for KR808D (Manual Switch) - $12.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

Their 510 PT (not 501) does have an inline batt, but other vendors do sell them without it. Rocky Mountain Vapor sells them:

BE510 USB PASSTHROUGH - Black For JOYE510

You should never use a PT on a USP port directly on a computer. They generally are not rated to be able to handle the high current (amps) that a PT draws, and can fry the port and even the motherboard. And external powered USB hub makes it safe on the computer, but they are also not rated for high current, and I've fried several ports that way. Even dedicated AC converters with USB ports that plug into the power-strip can be very cheap ($3.00 or less) and work, but fry out relatively soon, no matter the amp rating they have. My beefy Radioshack unit have been going strong since January.

The thing about 510 PTs with the batt box is that with those you are vaping off the battery, which is charged by the USB current. So you are vaping at 3.7V or less...closer to 3.2V with the battery they use. The straight-wire PT will vape at a full 5V. This will give a stronger vape, but it will be more strain on the atty, so the atty may not live as long.

It also may well be too strong for you. 5V with a 2.5 ohm atty ( a normal 510) gives about 10 watts of heat from the coil. For some this is the "sweet spot", and they love it. Its too strong for me. I like around 6 watts, so I stick with 3.7V batts (14500 batts) with normal 510 attys. You may find that a higher resistance atty is better for you at 5V, like a DSE510 atty (also called SLB510), or a hig-voltage atty, which has even higher resistance than the DSE510.

But see how a normal atty works. You are setting up the system wisely by asking these questions. People do vape on kr808d-1 cartos at %V, so the kr808d-1 PT might be the most convenient for you, although there are adapters for using a kr808d-1 carto on a 510 device.

Good luck!
