Hey all, since I started vaping, I have only used cartos. Still use em on my new REO. I am curious as what will be the differences if I use an atty rather than a carto on the REO? The ones I have in mind at the moment are what appear to be the "simpler" ones like on Robs site- ie smoktech 2.0 atty. Would you please let me know your thoughts on the strong points / weaknesses of one method vs the other? Thank you.

I like atomizers better. For one thing no filler.

There is a slight learning curve to atty's. Since the juice does not sit in filler you squonk a little juice at a time to wet the coil.

The taste for me is much better with an atty. The hits vary with the airflow of the atty. Some are airy others tight.

I blind squonk. Draw without firing till I hear a gurgle then stop. Hardly ever flood an atty.

The ones Robert sells work well. There are also much more expensive attys. The HH.357 for one. It does give amazing vapor and taste, but for me it is too much.

I buy mine in bulk for around $4.70 for 10. I use the Joye L.R. at 1.5 in the 306 and the 510.

If you get the 306 you will need 306 drip tips.

Nerak, would you be able to disclose the source of the attys you use to me? How many days do you get out of an atty? What happens when an atty floods? Does it make at mess, as in leak out of the REO?
It would appear that I need the "atomizer 101" class or the publication "atomizers for dummies" or everything you have time to tell me about them. Thank you again!

I get mine here: Genuine Joye 510 1.5 Ohm LR electronic cigarette 10-pack of black atomizers

My atty's last more than just days, they go for weeks. Some have lasted a couple months at least. Since I have and use so many REO's I don't keep track of each atty and how long it has been used. I just know that I don't have to change them very often! Most people will clean their attys. Some clean them daily, some weekly. I use to clean mine. But found that I would rather use them till they die!

When you flood them you get very little vapor and usually some juice spitting up through the tip into your mouth. When you stop drawing the juice will settle down in the drip well. Usually it does not overfill the well, but can if you have really squonked a lot of juice!!! Just a little squeeze on the bottle is all it takes to feed it.

For me atty's were worth the learning curve. I have used cartos and still do use some but I don't plan on buying more. I would rather vape with atty's.

Thank you Nerak for the ever helpful information. I am going to give them a try because many seem to favor them for the reasons you list. My guess is that each squonk would yield 2 or 3 hits right? is the idea to vape all the juice you squonked before you put the REO in a pocket or something?

You do have one heck of a large and beautiful collection to rotate thru don't you! I am hoping to get another for Christmas. Do those 510 attys you told me about work on a mini 2.0? Thanks again Nerak.

Nerak must be busy, so let me chime in with my little bit of knowledge, the 510 atties work on any Reo size Happy vaping!

And i would suggest getting a few cartos, probably super shorty style as the don't have as much filler. The drip tips fit them. These I would use when out and about. Happy vaping!

It really depends on a lot of things as to how long the juice in the atty lasts. If you draw hard and long it will use more juice. A lower resistance atty will use more juice. A 306 in general uses more juice. I get about 4-5 vapes for every squonk.

Yes, it is best to vape then pocket your REO right before you need to squonk again.

All the REO's except the original Wood REO's, will use the 510 and the 306 without an adapter.

Thanks for the compliment on my collection. I find it an honor to have gathered many collectible REO's and some that are one of a kind or first run. I view my collection as a tribute to the master craftsman of such a fabulous PV.

Karen,
I did originally perceive Nerak to be a man! Got me. After reading your posts though I began to think differently. Now it's clear! Both your and "old broads" user names are pretty cool! Glad to find out that old broad is not "jimmy" or something. I have to add that you all and most REO fans are a very helpful bunch and I am glad to be among you. Oh, and Kay, your advice is great. You should continue to provide it!

Thank you again to both of you chicas!
Russ

Nerak what flavors are you vaping with a 1.5 ohm atty? I'm still trying to get the flavors I like matched up with the correct atty ohms.

I found the only way to get the amount of flavor I want is to DIY and make flavors at 20%. I also use 32-34mg nic.

With that said, I like lots of different flavors. But all are combos and turn out sweet. Butter Rum, Caramel, Bavarian Cream, Banana, Cherry, Pralines, Hazelnut, Brandy, Rum, Tobacco, Dulche de leche, just to name some.

For me the key was to up the flavor percentage above what I could get from vendors. My sweet juices do well with the 1.5 LR atty.

Hmm at 1.5 everything tastes burnt and flat for me not full bodied. I'm coming from 808 stick battery/ x2, clearo, ce3 land. I got tired of all the leaking, so I've been on a quest to find the right ohm attys. at 1.8 my menthol flavors just taste like menthols, I'm not getting the other subtle flavors.

Most say the 2.0 is better for some flavors. Maybe you should try them. I like the taste from them o.k. but just not enough heat and vapor. I use 100% VG.
