so i'm new and that's obvious. i love my cigarettes and don't want to quit. this looks like a good alternative. i know it takes time to get used to it since it's not really the same. i've done a decent amount of research but in the end i am more confused than ever. i think i've picked the pv i want and then i find a lot of negative comments so i move on to another one that looks good and again too many negative things that turn me away. finding out how many different kinds and choices and what not is just overrunning my brain.

this is what i am looking for in my pv

look and feel of a cigarette
comes in black
blue led peferably
starter kit with 2 bats and 2 atty or cartomizers
charge box (not required)
cartridges that can be refilled

the three that i have narrowed down to are the 510, veppo, or the prosmoke. if there is something better than that then let me know. and what is probably the best place online to get one of these.

anyone who responds thank you very much.

So in general, if you want to stay with the analog look and feel, it seems like the 808 and the 510 each have their advantages, and the overall consensus is that you'll go for a fat bat or a mod eventually anyways so don't sweat the details at this point... take the plunge and even though I suggested the 510, you can't go wrong with either.

Hi Firefly,
You know, I still love vaping my 510's, but I'm going on 8 mos of vaping now, and the batts are finally dying. I've heard so many good reviews about the KR808D-1s that I'm tempted to try one out. Who do you recommend as a retailer? I like my eGos also, but I prefer the minis when I vape in public (which is rarely). Please and thank you.

Anybody on here that stocks the manual batteries should be fine (get the XL's if you want maximum batt life), BUT you must make sure you don't get the original Kanger KR808D-1 cartomizers as they are crap, you gotta get the premium / coolcart / turbo ones they perform great.

I have just one question to ask you:
How much do you smoke?

Some (not all, but quite a few) heavy smokers end up finding that the only thing that will really "cut the mustard" for a PV is a mod of some type; often a juice-fed device.

For that reason alone, if you smoke 1 1/2 pack a day or more I suggest some type of 510- this is the most commonly used setup for mod devices. Starting off with one means you could re-use parts if you upgrade.

I have neither a 510 or an 808, but I do have two more traditional pvs and yet found both insufficient for my habit.

And oh yeah- welcome to ECF and vaping.

I remember reading through these posts not long ago myself..and sometimes it only gave me more questions.
so I basically wanted a smaller ecig I knew that and still like that choice I cant imagine being in public vaping an eGo
Id prefer to feel more discreet myself
But eventually I decided on the 510 as it seemed to be the most spoken about and carried through most vendors
and just hoped it worked..I cant speak of the other as I dont own them YET..I did just yesterday order an eGo

I started with a 808 due to battery life. I kept reading between the 510 and 808 and wanted to keep it about the size of an analog thinking it was important. The 808 worked to get me off the analogs but I still wanted more battery life, and after kicking the analogs realized the size really didnt matter to me. I ended switching to a HV mod and havent looked back since. My point is if your trying to kick analogs why does the size of one matter? The eGo's and several others are very good options and would hate to see someone make the same mistake by thinking the size is that important just to find out you want to upgrade shortly after. Dont get me wrong my 808 makes for a great backup if I ever need....lol

I also wanted something closely resembling a analog initially, now it's about the battery.........

I went from a 4081 to a 510 manual to a 801 auto and now to a Riva manual. I've all but given up on all but the 510 and the Riva. If I'm out running errands and such I like having more of a analog style but the battery life isn't so hot, so I have to carry alot of them if I intend to be out for the day.

I have the extra batt life on the Riva for all the other times and the battery life is incredible. I initially liked the 801 for the huge capacity of the cartridge, but now with the extended length 510 cartomizers which fit either battery and the ego mega cartomizer which only fits my Riva I have plenty of options of what I "take with" during the day.

I know it all seems daunting at first, but buying kits is def more affordable and there are going to be some great sales on black friday, Liberty flights will be having a great one on their Ego for I think $40. similar to the Riva with even longer battery life.

Good luck in your quest to find the "right one" for you! HTH

Noooo.. do not go with the 510, the KR808D-1 has much better battery life and is hands down the best cig sized PV available, it has awesome cartomizers available now by Boge who make the premium ones and you can use all 510 or any other models accessories with 99 cent adapters from Good Prophets, or if you decide you want to use atomizers you can use those too.

true and if you decide you want to use atomizers you can use a 901 without an adapter on the kr808d-1 battery

By the end of 2-4 weeks ciggy looks and size mean nothing anymore to most vapers. I started w/ an ego cause everyone raved about the battery life. I only used it for 2 weeks and was going through 4 batteries a day!(That was $60.00 in the toilet IMO) now I use a big Mod with a juice tank and don't care what I look like huffing on it in public cause it does what I want it to, holds 6ml of juice and battery will last all day!

Good luck & happy vaping :)

Whoa! Four eGo batteries a day! That's crazy. I chain vape (on XLs) 18 hours a day and barely manage to drain two of them. But, I've got a BSB and am considering a couple other big battery mods. I do care what they look like ... I don't want anything vaguely resembling a cigarette, LOL

Roughstack is nice and small in your hand with a 1200 mah battery. After running through the smaller cig sized bats on several different models i reached a simple conclusion. If your device runs out of power when you need it then it's worthless. Save yourself a bunch of time money and frustration and don't purchase anything less than an ego. It's all about how long a battery will last. Your gonna be hitting that thing like mad the first couple weeks. if its a cig size bat it will last an hour. Theres a reason all of the manufacturers are moving to larger longer lasting PVs. Customers who have used one for any amount of time want them that way.

I vape 10-15ml per day, and I can EASILY kill 6 ego batteries in a day... Rate of battery use for me is 2.5ml per charge... With 14500 batteries I vape 3-3.5ml per charge.

I like rating this by Ml/ charge instead oh hours, because one person may puff 20 times an hour, while others may puff 100 or more.

Are y'all using LR atomizers? I just recently got a good handle on how much juice I use. It came to "only" 3-4ml/day. But, I probably used 50% more with LR Attys. I've got a number of PVs and PTs. But, my goto is eGo-type.

Wow, 10-15ml/day ... are you sure you aren't drinking it? LOL

By your measure (ml/charge) I guess I get about 2ml per charge. I generally take shortish puffs, with periodic longer drags.

EDIT!!! My apology to the OP. This series of posts is way off topic. Sorry.

Well, this is really wierd today- I cannot use the quotes or underlining after I copy and paste
I would go for the 510 (Manual battery!) from Cignot.com. They have great prices and customer service is excellent! Plus, they seem to have many more color choices. You would definately need the "charge box" that you're talking about- it's called a PCC (personal charging case)
I have moved from the BluCigs, which I only used for about a month total. I got frustrated, went back to analogs. # months ago, I found this forum and ordered the 510's- I LOVE em!!!
