Thanks for the links but I was looking for information on batteries in vaping. What type are you guys typically using in your devices. What do I need to know about battery safety pertaining to vaping. I see battery numbers thrown around all the time, what do they mean? What does 18350 mean? Is it the physical size? Does 18530 reference MAH or volts in some way? What brands are considered the best and worst? How long do they last(in cycles not MAH) typically? Is one chemistry safer than others? I see the Vamo will take two small batteries. Is this what is referred to as stacking batteries? I have seen mentions of safety and stacking. I hear AW and IMR before battery numbers all the time, what do they mean? Things like that. These are the questions I have off the top of my head. I've read lots of helpful articles on the ECF but can't find one on batteries. I'm sure there is one but I can't find it. I tend to not google info on ecigs as most of what I get is written by someone with an agenda. Someone trying to sell me something. I like the info here because its usually written by someone who enjoys educating "me". If it wasn't for this site I would certainly be back to analogs or still on the Blu ecig.

18650. 18500, 16430 etc. all refer to the size of the battery. The 1st number (18,16,14) refers to the diameter of the battery in mm. The second two numbers refer to the length, 65mm, 50mm, 43mm etc, The 0 at the end means it's a tubular battery. For most mods you would want a safe chemistry high drain battery, IMR or NCR specifically. AW, Efest and Panasonics are all great brands. Protected batteries are generally low drain ICR, they need a protection circuit because their chemistry is less safe. If you use them in a large mod you will trip the protection circuit on a regular basis and the device won't fire. I personally stack batteries all the time annd have no issues, just make sure that you use them and charge them in pairs (I number the pairs with a sharpie) Use a good name brand and regularly inspect them for damage. Use a decent charger as well, one with independant charging channels, and check them once in a while with a meter to make sure they aren't overcharging. (They should top out at 4.25v at the most)

Latest revision of the Sigelei has 16mm diameter well and Ego Threads.
Kanger t3 works flawlessly.

I'm using it on Watts mode and like it a lot. I raise or lower the Watts depending on my mood just like I used to do with volts.

The new Sigelei is great, I like it almost as much as my Provari for less than half the price. Kangors fit great on it too with the 16mm drip well.

I'm going to change my recommendation. How fickle we Vapers are.

Hurray my Innokin Itaste MVP just arrived
It came totally empty and took 3 1/2 hours to charge.

The fit and finish and build quality are superb. No rattle, this is a solid brick.
Yes the newest version which I bought from Vapor Alley does have the Ego Threading and accepts my Kanger t3.

I love it too. It's way shorter than a the Sigelei and Provari. Box shape makes it more stable. After I do a mod on it that I saw in a video which is to unscrew the screws and push the on-off button under the body and rescrew it will be rock solid stable. I'll lose the function to use it to recharge my Cel Phone but who cares.

This is the Best Mod Available for the price! Totally outfitted it ran around $65.00 as compared to the $80-$100 you'll spend buying a mod with quality I repeat Quality batteries and a Quality Charger and if you search you can find for less. For me Ego threading was important and I confirmed with Vapor Alley that this one has the new Ego Threading and accepts the Kanger T3 which it does. Considering that it includes the 2600mah battery and runs efficiently it will give tremendous battery life. You can also charge it on the go and vape as a passthrough if you have a long USB Cord[ I do. ]

I believe that this is the best Mod out there for a beginner. A perfect step up from a Ego.

It's so simple to operate.
1. 3 presses to the button to turn on and off
2. Adjust the voltage by pushing the clearly marked + - buttons
and start vaping!

No separate batteries and chargers to mess with. It accepts a normal Micro USB Charger.

The Vape output is very very smooth, I believe that the PWM is better filtered than the Sigelei.

Finally it is very elegant!!

Their are only some drawbacks

1. Range is from 3.3-5V so if you like high voltage vaping this isn't for you
2. The 3.3 bottom range means that the minimum Ohm Clearomizer is a 1.8. I use 2.4 Kangers so doesn't matter to me.
3. no ohm gauge [Not a dealbreaker] just play with it and set it for what you like. Doesn't take a nuclear physicist to find the sweet spot quickly.
4. From the PBusardo Video a 1.5 Dual topped off at mid 4 range, since most don't vape dual at high levels not a deal breaker.
5. As mentioned above you have to mod it to make it sit flat and than you'll lose the ability to use it to recharge devices. Hey I never want to be put in a position of choosing between charging my phone or a nic fit!!!

Has anyone put a T3 on their Vamo? I read in a post earlier in this thread you can screw a T3 on the Vamo but in one of the youtube reviews they say you can not. It has the ego cone threading but not enough room for the T3. I'm loving the T3 and would be disappointed if that was the case. I did however buy my first carto tank last week and have been quite impressed with it.
Just get a 510 to ego adaptor (they are like $3) problem solved! Its really no biggie.

One thing you may want to conscider is the over all size of the mod you are getting....I thought about getting the Vamo, but even in "shorty" mode it looks like it is as tall as my lavatube, which doesn't leave the house these days. I suppose the extra electronics in the VW mods require more room, but some people have figured out how to fit those in better than others.

Size is a big deal for me. I do not want a huge device. I want VV/VW, display, ohm meter(even though I have and use one everyday for my other hobby), ego&510, up to 6 volts, would prefer using my T3( not a deal breaker), would prefer using one large or one small battery modes) yep, I basically want the perfect device

Check out the Anyvape CVI.

I got mine for $60. It included 18650 and 18350 tubes.

I believe it uses the Zmax chip, has ego threading and long and short mode.

It's made of aluminum like the evic so it's nice and light but it's solid.

Oh, and you can get black, silver, red, pink, blue, green, and orange.

Looks like a nice product. I would consider it but everywhere is sold out. The new CVI-V2 is out but not in stock anywhere. No way of knowing when that will change I guess.

I use the Smoktech Groove and I recommend it.

I read about durability issues after seeing it in up close and buying one. Mine doesn't fall over (am I just lucky?) and the build quality is better than advertised.

My neighbor is a diabetic - he came over to visit the other day and we talked out on my deck (he still smokes cigs so we were outdoors). He was walking back home and collapsed in the middle of what I guess was a seizure. I ran towards him and in my haste my Groove flew about ten feet and landed (and slid) on pavement.

Long story short - he is fine now and my Groove is too - not even a scratch actually. I guess it is built to be tough enough for average use and abuse.

varitube.com has V1 in stock. I got mine from them a week ago. I tacked on a drip tip to get order over $60 and got free shipping:)

Just snagged one on ivape for $55 and free shipping. You have to use the coupon code in the description (fightback1) for the $10 off making it $55.25.

I checked and according to the description the one you purchased is for 510 and won't take the fully threaded Ego t3.
You should check with them to be sure, if that matters to you.

You can buy a inexpensive 510 to ego adaptor to get around this liability and it still is a great price.

Great input everyone. I wanted to like the eVic but I'm not hearing great things at the moment. I am nearly sold on the Vamo but the size is all that's deterring me. I would like something smallish. But that's one place I may have to compromise. I've watched all Phils reviews and now that I've narrowed it down to the suggestions in this thread I think I will watch them again and take some notes.

I have the zmax "smoktec", vamo, evic, and provari....My vamo is still my daily vape, its a great mod. I am one for build quality, and the evic imo is lacking in that department, it works great but if it hit the ground i dont think it will hold up..

Good Luck
