The beauty of serial coils is the resistance is the sum of both coils. IE... One piece of 28g kanthal, 4 wraps on a 2mm rod, twice = 1.5 ohm (only 8 wraps total)

As you know... for the same resistance with parallel coils... two separate coils.... 28g kanthal, 20 wraps on a 2mm rod = 3.0 ohm each coil with a final combined resistance of 1.5 ohm. (40 wraps total)

Big BIG difference in coil size and performance. It will take a loooong time to heat those huge coils up. That serial coil heats up very fast.

The double barrel rip did Is not serial. Its parallel. Equilibrium is trying to help you keep your ohms up....spelled with an S for effect!

Exactly!! I'm just giving you another way to achieve the resistance you're looking for with MUCH smaller coils. Coils that will fit inside the kayfun chimney.

Sorry I don't follow the post, It won't fit coils going the other way on top of the hole. I get "what" your trying to say, but on the Kayfun the coils are NOT going to be able to go over the hole because it'll need to be next to each other for ONE hole. Being that its next to each post, so there is limited room. if I go the other way like RIP does I can go a mile with coils. Unless I make the circumferance of the coils bigger for more resistance, which in tern maybe fit. Here's a pic of a guy doing it

See his, he's getting .07 on that and its full. I have to be in near the 1.5 range with 16+ wraps, the pic I have of that one coil is 14 wraps and its long as hell.

So i ended up doing it shotgun style like RIP, not the cleanest build but first time duel coiling it. Anyhow put it together at 1.29ohmz. What I notice is it just takes to much power to push those coils and get HUGE vapor vs my single coils for my mod. Here's a pic before I take them out and do a single coil. I figured I'd share that I finally did it! =)

I couldn't tell you definitively about ribbon wire, but you said you've used this build single coil build i believe. A dual coil is the resistance profile as a parallel coil - whatever the resistance is of your single coil (i.e 2.8 ohms) a dual coil build of the same size is equivalent to half that resistance (1.4 ohms). Check out ohms law calculator and vapor's toolbox, both available as mobile apps. Hope this helps :)

Single coil build at 1.27, I'll nano it usually and just heats up INSTANTLY for my mod and pours out vapor. Duel coil 2x16 wraps to heat those many coils at 1.27 ohmz yeah a smoktech sid will not be able to heat up those 16 wraps fast vs a 8 wrap 29g that heats up right when you click the fire button. Just makes sense heating up 16 coils and 2 of them? I have to max it at 15 watts and it takes forrrrrrrever to even get a OK vape. Anyhow, this build with that many coils isn't able to catch up on the mod at all. BTW I used Coil Toy - Online calculator for e-cigarette resistance coil building plus I've built MANY coils, just not duel, and to put the omhz that high with that many wraps to heat them up takes days.

Ok if I made the circumferance much bigger I could probably get away with it. But I decided why not go crazy with single coil??

Soooooooooooo I'm going to go with the Chimeny coil! ie.

Note: I get MORE flavor but a bit less vapor, but the flavor hits hard as hell! And hot, direct coil up to the chimeny to your lungs, hits the throat like good god! and you exhale and its decent vapor but crap ton of flavor. Also really easy to to mount to the screws. Just have to up it together put it on the mod, get the tweasers heat it up smash it, bend it up a few mm above the feeder hole then wrap it. The vapor comes up for the kanthal directly up and the heat just goes BAM!

BTW Thanks for all the help and replies forgot to say that! I'll try it later on and post it when I mess with more advanced insane coils. I'm a single coil guy even when I get a RDA I'm going to find a way to make it a champ, and if you check out this video on this single coil on a RDA they are a beast!!

Watch this who ever sees this, single coil build and what magic you can make happen with out doing duel or quad.
Its quick and well done video and he does great videos like this...

The ohms drop half the amount when doing dual coil. So if you have a 2 ohm coil for example if you were building dual coils you would be left with a 1 ohm build. Its half the resistance of one coil.

Man we've been over this if you read the actuall comments on this thread. It'll all make sense rather then just reading the subject. I know what the duel coils do and when you combined them. Imagine pushing 16coils x 2 how long it takes to heat 32 coils for 1.29ohmz 29g (its all I have other then that 28g, If I had 32, or 30 would be different) on 1.3mm circumference. BTW I just ordered some 32g, should make it happen much better with less coils.
