Yeah that's just like the video I posted above of RIP Trippers doing them side by side on the kayfun he called double barrel
The double barrel rip did Is not serial. Its parallel. Equilibrium is trying to help you keep your ohms up....spelled with an S for effect!
You could also get some 32g wire and go the parallel route. I haven't done the math but I believe 32g, 10 wraps on a 1.4mm (1/16 in) rod will be in the neighborhood of 3.0 ohms
OR
32g, 8 wraps on 2mm (5/64 in drill bit) = 3.0 ohm
If I remember correctly, you tube has a tutorial on how to build a dual kayfun coil. You might check it out. Hope this helps.
I couldn't tell you definitively about ribbon wire, but you said you've used this build single coil build i believe. A dual coil is the resistance profile as a parallel coil - whatever the resistance is of your single coil (i.e 2.8 ohms) a dual coil build of the same size is equivalent to half that resistance (1.4 ohms). Check out ohms law calculator and vapor's toolbox, both available as mobile apps. Hope this helps![]()
The ohms drop half the amount when doing dual coil. So if you have a 2 ohm coil for example if you were building dual coils you would be left with a 1 ohm build. Its half the resistance of one coil.
