NEED! WILL SWAP!!

I have two protected 14500 600mAh 3.7v batteries that Jynn SO generously sent to me. But the problem is they don't work on my box mod. The positive side is almost flat and it doesn't touch the connector.
Edit: Or maybe someone can explain to me a way to make them work without ripping the box apart?

Is it a plastic box?

Try turning the battery around and see if it makes contact with the terminal and spring.

EDIT...Oh, there is no spring?...both ends have a flat terminal?

No that won't work.. it's hard to explain... but the metal connector in the box mod is slid into a plastic bracket.. it's the plastic that's stopping the battery making a connection.. something would have to be put in between there.. It's just a teeeeny gap, but a teeny gap goes a long way!
Hang on I know what you're sayin....plastic's in the way right? boB

Yes... my phone wont send the pics for some reason.. but if the plastic that's holding the flat connector in was not there, the battery would make contact. There is a spring, and the spring is fine..

Sallana, I have a box mod with the same problem. I just took a small screwdriver and bent the connector out just a little until it made contact with the battery. Just pry it slowly and carefully. It doesn't take much bending for it to connect.

I thought of that but there's also plastic OVER it so there's no way I could fit a bending tool in there

An option if you're careful worst case you're gonna break the plastic tabs tabs that hold the contact, but be careful cause the master on/off switch is right under there

Sallana it probably needs a spacer...Clouds of Vapor has them if it turns out that is the problem. I have to use a spacer on my WetBox.
Will work rather than a trading batts.

Or you can knife those tabs off and use some adhesive to hold that contact. Shouldn't take much.....could almost do without them, the pressure from the spring help keep things in place.boB

I don't want to break anything. Will the spacer do the trick without messing up the performance?

Really near the mexican border.
try putting some tinfoil folded nice and small between the battery and the connection it should make it tighter and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes just need to mess with it until it works.
You can also aquire a small magnet to fit between the two and this will do it, I have one for one of my mods also. You can also take a flat head screwdriver and try to make the spring a bit longer by stretching it just a bit at a time, don't go at this gungho~~~little baby steps until your battery fits. Usually it's the spring gets wound to tight and then the batts are too short.

The positive side is almost flat and it doesn't touch the connector. Can I swap someone for a pair of the black trustfire ones? Only 'cause I KNOW those work.. or any 14500 battery with a longer connection thing? I don't know much about modding or batteries so pardon my terming. All I know is these won't work! Halp!

Edit: Or maybe someone can explain to me a way to make them work without ripping the box apart? I was going to put a metal washer in there to bridge the gap but my husband said it would just act like a resistor and short the unit? EEK! I don't want that!!

It's not how well the battery fits, is the that there's plastic between the battery and the connector... I think I'm going to trade something to Bovinia for a spacer.. but I want to make sure it will work without messing anything up.. I've had bad experiences with mods, lol

Yeah that's what they're made for....I just figure you had batts with tips on them....sorry. boB

There's no need to be sorry o.0 Don't get all emo! :p It's not a big deal. I'll take Bon up on the spacer and give her a lil present and all will be well.

Thanks for the prompt replies, everyone! I  PIF.

Spacers are made for those batts....you'll be good.....just wanted you up and running tonight.....don't buy hose batts anymore. They are just trouble....and they are only 600mah. boB

They were a gift.. I can't complain. But doesn't lower mAh just mean lower batt life? That's not a big deal since she sent me 2. And the tekk is up and running! And before I sent out Chelle's box mod I used her battery.. so I was able to try out my Blue. :)

Gotcha I figured you were using B's batt when this popped up. Those batts will work, and are a nice gift, but a lot of mods are requiring spacers to use them, and most, like myself don't keep in mind when building mods some people use them. For the price though get you some 900mah ultra or trustfires better batt life, and like I said you'll run into that problem on other mods. I still think you can "tweak" that contact and make it work, but the way things are going better not press our luck! boB
